Amy Winehouse may be brain damaged
I’m not sure who’s surprised by this headline, but Amy Winehouse, who has popped in and out of rehab despite her musical promises to the contrary, may have brain damage thanks to her addictions, says The Sun.
A "friend" tells the UK paper that Winehouse, 24, binged on crystal meth and then had a 36-hour pot marathon. To quote my favorite stoner movie , it appears she may have smoked herself retarded.
The source alleges Winehouse had two major overdoses with intense "Exorcist"-esque convulsions.
The article continues to detail doctors’ concerns that she is so frail a fit might break bones and that a medic warned one more overdose would probably kill her.
Her first overdose in August 2007 was allegedly from cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, ketamine and crystal meth. Afterward, she was supposedly advised to see a psychiatrist after displaying multiple personality traits that made her a suicide risk.
The second overdose was in July after inhaling "inhuman" amounts of has, says the talkative pal. Winehouse was reportedly left vomiting uncontrollably and hallucinating.
Doctors now fear that her brain has been damaged by the experience and the Sun reports that she has displayed symptoms usually associated with schizophrenia.
Amy, now’s the time to say yes, yes, yes to rehab while you still have the brain cells left to do so.
