Anna Nichole tell-all tells tales?
Howard K. Stern is still busy defending Anna Nicole Smith’s honor. Such as it is.
Stern has filed a defamation lawsuit against Mark Speer, a former bodyguard for Larry Birkhead, and Elizabeth “Jackie” Haren, the sister of one of Smith’s exes. The suit fingers them as the source for the “lies” in journalist Rita Crosby’s tell-all book, “Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole’s Death” (which has its own $60 million libel suit pending).
Sterns says the Crosby says that Speer said (welcome back to high school, ladies and gentlemen) the lawyer was involved in a made-up scam funneling $15,000 from Smith’s bank accounts. The suit also says that Speer told Cosby that Birkhead and Stern conspired to grease each other’s palms while appearing to be adversaries in court.
Cosby’s book suggests that Stern agreed to quit fighting Birkhead for custody of Smith’s baby daughter, Dannielynn, if the Kentucky-born photographer agreed to let Stern remain executor of Smith’s estate and in control of her name and likeness.
In return, Stern would give Birkhead a few thousand dollars a month and let him and the baby live in Smith’s Studio City, Calif., house.
