Fall Premiere Preview- Sept. 8-14
Fox and CW are plowing right ahead with the fall season this week, with just one entry from NBC.
I’m waiting for Cameron and John to start getting it on, followed by Sarah and Derek when “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” comes back at 8 p.m. Sept. 8 on Fox. Failing that, I’ll just sit and look at Brian Austin Green for 42 minutes. That’s good, too.
J.J. Abrams hopes tries another take at a mysterious plane crash in “Fringe ” as the FBI investigates mysterious deaths on board an airplane at 8 p.m. Sept. 9 on Fox.
Despite several title changes (thank god – “How to Survive the Filthy Rich” doesn’t even have an easy acronym), “Privileged ” is putting more rich, pretty and skinny people on the screen Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. on the CW. Joanna Garcia can do so much better, though it appears they’ve nail the Palm Beach attitude part.
Fox welcomes back “Til Death ” Sept. 10 at 9 p.m., paired with new comer “Do Not Disturb” at 9:30 p.m.
And you have to wonder how stoned the Fox execs were when they picked up “Hole in the Wall ,” premiering at its regular time Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. Based on a Japanese game show, the point of this team game is for contestants to bend themselves into weirdly shaped obstacles hurtling toward them. Please, please, please viewing population, do not make this popular. Do not encourage this crap. Please.
More of Gordon Ramsey yelling and swearing in “Kitchen Nightmares ” follows that night at 9 p.m. on Fox.
Wayne Brady is back to test knowledge of popular songs and lyrics on “Don’t Forget the Lyrics! ” (seriously, who is naming these shows?) at 9 p.m. Sept. 12.
The week closes out with the late night comedy returns of Mad TV at 11 p.m. on Fox. Jerry O’Connell (star of “Do Not Disturb” – way to cross promote, boys) will host. SNL swims in with Michael Phelps as the host at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Unfortunately, I don’t think even the eight gold medals can make this show shine.
