Katie Holmes boffo for box office?
Rumors of “All My Sons” demise have been greatly exaggerated, says Variety. Producers of the Broadway revival of the Arthur Miller play featuring Katie Holmes, seen here heading back to rehearsals after a lunch break last weekend, have announced that they have advance ticket sales of $3.5 million.
The production also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson, but Holmes’ involvement has been the point of much speculation regarding how much of a draw she’ll be or how much of a deterrent.
Variety speculates that if the figures released are accurate, the show will be one of the biggest nonmusical box office performers this fall.
The show kicks off with previews Sept. 18 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater and a full opening is set for Oct. 16.
