Robert Wagner, Stanwyck had May-December affair

Gossipwise this is an oldie but a goodie. Robert Wagner reveals in his new memoir, “Pieces of My Heart” that he had a four-year love affair with Barbara Stanwyck.

Wagner, then 22, met his lady love, then 45, on the set of “Titanic” (1953) and the two managed to keep their romance hidden for years. Only close friends such as Nancy Sinatra and Spencer Tracy (busy with an affair of his own with Katharine Hepburn) knew.
Wagner says in the book that work and the May-December aspect of their relationship killed any future. Stanwyck ended it.

“I would always have been Mr. Stanwyck,” wrote Wagner, now 78. “and we both knew it.”

Wagner’s book hit shelves today.
