Letterman to give McCain another shot
David Letterman is giving John McCain another shot.
The Republican candidate bailed on Letterman for an interview with Katie Couric on Sept. 24 and lied about it – then got caught when Letterman’s staff spotted him on the CBS live feed with McCain chitchatting with Couric pre-interview.
Letterman said he first felt like a “patriot” to let McCain off his commitment to deal with the economy but “now I’m feeling like an ugly date.”
But McCain will have another shot to get back into the host’s good graces Thursday for his 13th visit to Letterman’s “Late Show.”
