Misty May-Treanor out of surgery

Misty May-Treanor underwent surgery Tuesday to repair her torn Achilles tendon.

According to her rep, the surgery was a success and she’s home recovering and getting nursed back to health by husband Matt Treanor, catcher for the Florida Marlins (ironically, the two met in 2003 at a sports therapy facility in California. Guess they’ll have a chance to rekindle that flame).

The gold medal-winning volleyball star had to drop out of the ABC reality competition “Dancing with the Stars” when she injured herself while rehearsing the jive with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy Friday. Doctors say it will take about nine months of recovery and rehabilitation before she’ll be volleyball ready.

“I would come back to the ballroom if they asked me back,” May-Treanor said on the live DWTS broadcast Monday.
