The Brits get their knickers in a twist
One of our CU Ass of the Week alums is getting his ass kicked over in Britain. Wednesday the BBC indefinitely suspended two of its most popular broadcasters: Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross.
The two left a series of dirty phone messages for “Fawlty Towers” actor Andrew Sachs, 78, and played the calls on their radio show.
Ross joked on the actor’s machine that Brand had slept with the actor’s granddaughter and basically did a Howard Stern-esque routine. They also discussed breaking into Sachs’s home and performing a sex act on him.
There’s been the typical condemnation by political people and an investigation by Britain’s version of the FCC. They generated 18,000 complaints and the two are off the air until the investigation is over.
Sounds all awful, right?
Except, this is how the granddaughter parades herself around:

Georgina Baillie, the 23-year-old in question, dances under the stage name Voluptua in burlesque troupe, The Satanic Sluts.
And she admits to a brief relationship with Brand and said she slept with him three times.
I’m not saying that anyone deserves to be teased or harassed, but when you dress like that and call yourself “Satan’s Slut,” um, it’s possible people will see you as a sexual person. Yeah, no one wants their grandfather called up and told their sexual history, but for God’s sake, she slept with a sex addict and is a burlesque dancers (read: slightly classier stripper). I’m sorry the British sensibilities were offended, but this is about on par with Janet Jackson’s boob.
Get over it people.
Pickler goes vegetarian
Kelly Pickler is tickled by the vegetarian lifestyle and fellow American Idol alum Carrie Underwood is helping her along.
“We have this little vegetarian thing going on. I’ll text (Carrie) and be like, ‘Is fish considered a meat?’ And she’ll be like, ‘Well, different people look at it differently.’”
Pickler told PEOPLE magazine that she was inspired by both health reasons and compassion for animals. She’s five month along in her meat-free lifestyle for the past five months.
“I saw all the videos and I just thought it was horrible. It’s animal cruelty. A lot of it has to do with knowing what happens to the animals and it really bothered me and so I will not eat meat.”
Dina Lohan: Cat fight, what cat fight?
Ultimate stagemom Dina Lohan denies any ugliness between her daughter Lindsay Lohan and “Ugly Betty” star America Ferrera.
“It was just silly,” Dina Lohan said of rumors of a diva-esque battle between America and Lindsay. “America’s a doll. And they said (Lindsay) brought a posse. It was my mother and myself, and (sister) Ali. It was not a posse. We had sushi and no one trashed the room.”
Other reports add Lindsay’s manager and publicist to her coterie. Dina doesn’t shed any light on why her guest appearance was cut short.
“She had fun on Ugly Betty,” said Dina. “It was long hours and when you’re on a movie set it’s a lot different. She’s not used to television, but it was fun.”
America Ferrera, however, is busy starting another TV feud, this time with “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” costar Blake Lively.
Earlier this summer, America and Blake appeared on “Good Day LA” and America looked less than entranced with her friend’s new show, “Gossip Girl.”
America is on the cover of Seventeen magazine this month and takes on the guilty pleasure. She says such TV depicts female friendships in a skewed light.
“Like, if you’re watching The Hills or 90210, all the backstabbing shapes the way we act,” America said. “I mean, I love Blake; she’s a wonderful friend of mine, but shows like Gossip Girl kind of condition us to be mean.”
However, America claims that all her friendships, especially with her Pants posse are drama-free (at the moment):
“One of the most wonderful experiences I’ve had with girl relationships was working with them (Lively, Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn) on Sisterhood. I’d worked with other girls before and it was pretty catty,” said Ferrera, who counts Tamblyn as “one of my closest friends.”
Jo Dee Messina expecting a baby boy
It’s going to be a boy for country singer Jo Dee Messina. The singer spoke with PEOPLE magazine and reveals that she is in her third-trimester, having gotten pregnant just a few months into her marriage to Chris Deffenbaugh.
She was trying to lose weight when she figured out that there was a reason for her gain. In six months of pregnancy, she gained about 11 pounds.
“I’m staying really fit. I run 30 minutes a day and weight train for an hour, five days a week. This is all baby!” said Messina. The pregnancy won’t stop her from running a five-mile race on Thanksgiving Day, only a month short of her due date.
As for the quick addition of children to the family, it’s a surprise, but a happy one.
“We knew we wanted to have kids, but we just said, ‘Whenever it happens, it happens.’ And it happened!” she said. “We were both surprised at first. It’s such a lifestyle change. But then we’re like, ‘Wow, we’re going to be parents!’”
She’ll kick off her tour in 2009 with baby boy in tow. “I will take him on tour with me, but I’m like, ‘How do you do that?’” Messina said “How do you do the bus? Who rides where? Band? Crew? Family? What safety devices do you need? I might grab one of the other singer moms like Sara Evans or Martina McBride and say, ‘Help me!’”
Barack to rock the Daily Show
It’s the meeting of too much awesome. Barack Obama is making a mad dash to the electoral finish line and plans to take a quick sit in the interview chair at the “Daily Show” with Jon Stewart.
Obama will tape his fourth appearance via satellite during a campaign swing in Florida on Wednesday. The segment is scheduled to air at 11 p.m. EDT.
He last appeared on April 21, the eve of the Democratic primary in Pennsylvania.
Obama is also going to preempt 30 minutes of primetime TV Wednesday on NBC, CBS and Fox. to make his case to the American people (please, no shades of Ross Perot, okay? Sing “Solid as Barack,” okay? You already have the Perot ears, do not have pie charts).
Christina Aguilera’s new video keeps getting worse?
Christina Aguilera’s new video, “Keeps Gettin’ Better”
The video, helmed by “Hancock” director Peter Berg, might suffer in part from the fact that the song sucks. But even considering that, the video has no narrative and is just random. Christina pushes buttons lots and does weird things on a screen that don’t seem to have any rhyme or reason?
And what the hell is up with the fro-wearing cat woman thing toward the end?
Julianne Hough hopes for quick recovery
Julianne Hough is scheduled for the operating table Tuesday and the dancefloor Monday.
The “Dancing With the Stars” champ will have an appendectomy Tuesday to treat a recently diagnosed case of endometriosis, but plans to be dancing again by next week.
“Everything’s okay,” Hough said on Monday night’s show, where she performed a samba with partner Cody Linley. “I’m going to hopefully be back, if everything goes as planned, next week.”
To which host Tom Bergeron replied: “Only Julianne could say, ‘I’m having my appendix out, and I’ll be back in a week.’”
Edyta Sliwinska will take her place with Linley during Hough’s recovery.
“I’m sad that I’m not going to be with Julianne, but I’m happy that I’m with Edyta,” said Linley.
Annabeth Gish has a boy
Actress Annabeth Gish of Showtime’s “Brotherhood” and husband Wade Allen welcomed their second child, a son.
The newest member of the family is named Enzo Edward Allen. He was born Saturday night in Rhode Island and weighed 7 lbs.
The couple also have 21-month-old son named Cash.
Gish also appeared in “The X-Files” and the TV movie “Murder on her Mind.”
Jonas Brothers get a stinky movie deal
The Jonas Brothers are about to get even bigger. The Disney sensations (and current inappropriate fixation of this blogger) have signed on to make their big screen debut in “Walter the Farting Dog,” based on the bestselling book series.
Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas will appear with their younger, “Bonus Jonas” brother Frankie. The boys will play musicians whose sickly great-aunt asks them to care for her smelly best friend.
“By the time they’ve driven the dog home, everybody’s head is out the window of the family station wagon,” Peter Farrelly, who has been involved in developing the film, told PEOPLE. “But Frankie has a serious sinus problem and doesn’t notice the stench coming from Walter.”
Frankie and Walter get involved in a series of adventures, including thwarting a team of jewel thieves.
Filming starts in spring 2009.
Michelle Obama to appear on Leno

Police confirm body found in SUV is Hudson’s nephew
Chicago police have confirmed the body they found earlier in the day is that of Julian King, Jennifer Hudson’s missing 7-year-old nephew and son of Julia Hudson (pictured at left).
“Tragically, search efforts ended shortly after 7 a.m.,” Police Superintendent Jody Weis said at a press conference Monday afternoon in Chicago.
“At this time, we can confirm that the body located inside the vehicle was the body of 7-year-old Julian King. The vehicle was towed and taken in … for forensic processing.”
No cause of death has been released.
Surgery set for Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough’s stomach pains were more than a little problem for the “Dancing with the Stars” competitor. The two-time champ has been diagnosed with endometriosis and and will undergo surgery to have her appendix removed to address the condition.
A statement on her Web site says: “After consulting with her doctor, this was the course of treatment that was recommended.”
Hough headed to the hospital last week with stomach pains after the performance show Oct. 21. More details will be provided during tonight’s show when she performs with partner Cody Linley.
Endometriosis is a medical condition in which uterine-lining tissue grows outside the uterus on the surfaces of organs in the pelvis or abdomen where it is not supposed to grow. It affects about five to 10 percent of women of reproductive age worldwide.
The next day she said she was “fine” with what she called “stomach problems.”
Match the Mouth
Guess which famous face was wandering around the West Hollywood Whole Foods last Friday? She walked away with a cart full of Vitamin Water, along with lettuce, grapes, carrots and other healthy snacks… about seven grocery bags of goodies.

Zac and Vanessa take a romantic stroll in Hawaii
Vanessa Hudgens is well on her way to the best week ever. Not only did “High School Musical 3″ kick serious ass at the box office (it took in more than $42 million, a record for a big screen musical), she and hottie boyfriend Zac Efron spent the weekend in Hawaii for the wedding of one of Zac’s relatives.
Hudgens, who was home-schooled, said in a recent interview that starring in the Disney movie series let her experience the rites of passage she missed.
“I got to experience my prom, I got to wear a cap and gown for the very first time, graduate with people who I really love, the cast. So it’s been a lot of fun,” said Hudgens. She’s also getting the experience of what it’s like to be prom queen and date the quarterback (although Zac looks more like the captain of the wrestling team. He can put me in any kind of hold he likes).

Lindsay Lohan’s dad talks about keeping his mouth shut
Michael Lohan, Lindsay’s estranged father, told New York Magazine that he regrets criticizing his daughter’s lady love, Samantha Ronson: “I definitely regret all the things I said about Samantha,” he said at a book party Oct. 21. “I’m a Christian. I should not pass judgment on anyone.”
The father and daughter are talking, according to Michael, who added that he had recently spent four days with his son, Michael.
Back in September, Michael called Samantha, “dark, hideous and a disgusting representation of humanity” on a gossip Webiste. He claims the insults were an attempt to reach out to his daughter. He explained that he’d received a phone call expressing “really serious concerns” about Ronson.
“In the past, I felt that the best way to get to her was to speak out publicly,” he said. “And it was the wrong choice.”
He seems to have learned his lesson (for now) and refused to elaborate on his relationship with Lindsay or Michael.
“Family matters should be kept private,” he said. “I’ve learned that now.”
Police may have found Hudson’s missing nephew
UPDATE: TMZ reports that the FBI has said the body discovered today in an SUV in Chicago is “believed to be” that of Julian King, Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew.
The Amber Alert for Julian has been called off.
Chicago police have not yet commented.
A boy’s body was found in the vehicle police were looking for in their search for 7-year-old Julian King, the missing nephew of actress and American Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson. The 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859 was found in the 1300 block of South Kolin Avenue around 8 a.m. The license plate is registererd to her brother, Jason Hudson, who was found murdered along with her mother, Darnell Donerson, Friday afternoon after a family member came to their home in the 7000 block of South Yale Avenue.
Hudson’s nephew, Julian King, has been missing since the discovery and a manhunt for his stepfather, William Balfour, ended with Balfour coming into police custody Friday.
The SUV was found by John Louden, 75, who has lived in the neighborhood for 18 years. He spotted the vehicle while walking his dog and realized the license plate matched the one police were looking for.
“I didn’t look in there. I didn’t touch it. I knew it was a strange vehicle,” Louden told the Chicago Tribune. He said police showed up about five minutes after his wife called them.
The body of a child was discovered inside and removed before the SUV was towed away for evidence processing.
“I feel bad about that baby,” Louded said.
A law enforcement source told the Tribune that bullet casings were found in Julian’s room on Friday. But the source said they had not found other evidence of violence in the room.
William Balfour, the estranged husband to Julian’s mother, Julia Hudson, was sought in connection with the murders and taken into questioning Friday evening. Balfour has denied involvement in the killings or the disappearance of the boy, law-enforcement sources said. But at some point, Balfour stopped talking to authorities, sources told the Tribune.
Best From Behind Time Again
I have been slacking off on my best from behind. I have been quite busy and I am sorry. However, this week I’ve got a goodie. We are going to pit three Playboy Bunnies against each other. That’s right, The Girls Next Door.
For those of you that are not familiar with them, all three were Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends at one time and had a show on E!. You tell us who you think is best from behind:
Amy Poehler welcomes baby boy
Amy Poehler popped out her baby this weekend.
Her SNL Weekend Update costar Seth Myers appeared alone at the SNL Weekend Update anchor desk and told the audience: “I’m Seth Myers. Amy Poehler is not here because she is having a baby,” to wild applause.
The skit ended with Maya Rudolph and Keenan Thompson singing a special duet version of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You” with lyrics like, “We love you Amy” instead of “Oh pretty baby.”
Poehler has a show deal with NBC and told Men’s Vogue she’s not returning to SNL after her maternity leave.
Poehler is married to “Arrested Development” star Will Arnett. This is their first child together.
Her rep released a statement saying the baby’s name is Archie Arnett and weighed in at 8 lbs, 1 oz.
Dear lord, with parents like that and a name like this, that kid is destined to be funny.
Attacked anchor dies
The KATV anchor who was attacked this week died Saturday evening.
Anne Pressly, 26, was a popular morning anchor in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was also known for a brief role as a TV commentator in Oliver Stone’s film “W,” out last week.
Pressly was beaten around the head, face and neck. She had been unable to communicate with her family or police while being kept sedated in the intensive care unit.
She was discovered Monday morning a half-hour before she was to appear on ABC affiliate KATV’s “Daybreak” program. Her mother went to her home after she didn’t answer her regular wake-up call.
The attack was random, part of a burglary, according to police. Her purse was missing. Little Rock police have yet to identify a suspect.
Pressly’s parents released a statement, saying they were “with her in her last moments.” They also asked for “the privacy we need at this very difficult time,” KATV reported.
Our deepest sympathies.
30th Anniversary of Halloween
30 years ago today was born perhaps one of the scariest movies of all time. Yes, we are talking about the legendary “Halloween”, directed by John Carpenter in 1978 about a maniacal killer stalking teenagers on Halloween. It is said to be one of the most effective horror movies ever made.
Roger Ebert wrote in 1978, “We see movies for a lot of reasons. Sometimes we want to be amused. Sometimes we want to escape. Sometimes we want to laugh, or cry, or see sunsets. And sometimes we want to be scared. I’d like to be clear about this. If you don’t want to have a really terrifying experience, don’t see ‘Halloween.’”
Here’s a little taste of the original trailer:
What made Halloween so great was the following:
The Killer, Michael Myers, was simple in appearance, wore a boiler suit and didn’t talk and was very calm throughout.
The Setting, small-town America with a tree-lined street and of course the rundown house where Myers lived which has become the focus of teenagers who believe it is haunted. It’s a place that could be anyone’s hometown, any viewer’s neighborhood.
And you couldn’t make a film without creepy music, element of surprise and good use of lighting.
Its budget was low at a mere $320,000 and it was Jamie-Lee Curtis first movie role and the mask that Myers wore was really a star-trek Captain Kirk mask with the eyes made larger and painted white.
