Tony Curtis is/was a fame whore

Too bad we’ve already had our Celebrity Ass of the Week because we have another contender. Actor Tony Curtis admitted in an interview that he married “Psycho” star Janet Leight to boost his career.

The legendary ladies man, now 83, bedded a number of women and wed six times (his others wives were Christine Kaufmann, Leslie Allen, Andrea Savio, Lisa Deutsch and current significant other Jill Vandenberg Curtis).

He married Leigh in 1951 and had two children, actress Jamie Lee Curtis and Kelly Curtis. Curtis says that the publicity surrounding their relationship was one of the main reasons for the marriage”

“I even married Janet for my career. I could see the two of us could get more attention together. We had the paparazzi wherever we went, we were on the cover of all the movie magazines. It wasn’t enough for a man to be cute, he had to be connected to the right woman.”

Asked if he regrets the nuptials, Curtis adds: “No, no, no, not at all. I loved it. What better way to get famous?”

Seriously? What a fame whore. That lack of respect for his wife of 11 years and his children is disgusting. Points for honesty, a rarity in Hollywood, but epic fail for the sentiment.
