Margulies won’t check back in at ‘ER’
It looks like “ER” will hang up its stethoscope without Julianna Margulies making a house call. The show is bringing back some of its original stars for guest spots and asked Margulies to to appear, but she turned them down.
Her character, Carol Hathaway, rode off into the sunset to Seattle with George Clooney’s character, Dr. Doug Ross.
“I feel like I left Carol Hathaway in the best scenario possible,” Margulies said Saturday. “I can’t imagine making it any better than that.”
It’s unknown whether Clooney, arguably the most successful of the cast with Oscar Awards and very lucrative movie career, will return.
Anthony Edwards came back last week in a flashback of Dr. Mark Greene. Other returners include Noah Wyle and Eriq La Salle, who will also direct an episode.
