Paltrow and Martin’s marriage gone cold?
Rumor is that actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, about to celebrate their fifth anniversary on Dec. 5, are headed for a divorce.
While Coldplay wrapped up its U.S. tour Wednesday night and instead of welcoming her husband home to London, Paltrow headed to Miami and the home of billionaire Kabbalah practitioner Jeff Soffer.
Gossip started about Paltrow and Soffer when she showed up at the opening of Soffer’s Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami two weeks ago.
“Gwyneth has confided to friends she and Chris are taking a break,” a source claimed. “Jeff is crazy about her.”
On Monday, Paltrow’s spokesman, Stephen Huvane, called revived rumors of marriage trouble “rubbish … stemming from the fact that she will not make any public appearances with her husband.”
“We’re just friends,” Soffer said earlier this week. “Ms. Paltrow has a very sound marriage to Chris Martin.”
Hate to be a cynic, but with tales of celebrity marriage woes, the unfortunate reality is that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
