‘X Factor’ factors in Miley and Britney

The X Factor is one of the few UK reality shows that doesn’t have a US counterpart, though I doubt that’ll last for long. Produced by Simon Cowell, it’s the typical music talent contest in a vein very similar to the many others out there and launched the career of Leona Lewis.

It also hosts performances of pop stars from around the world and two American performers took the stage recently.

First up, the new teen queen Miley Cyrus singing her “Seven Things I Hate About You” and doing a pretty good job of it:

And now the former teen queen scrambling to claw her way back to the throne (I’ll give her props for a tolerable performance but “Womanizer” is one of the most irritating songs I’ve heard in years and damned if it is always on when I turn on the radio):
