Glove on the auction block

No, not the black glove that would not fit, so the jury must acquit. This is from another celebrity criminal, Michael Jackson. His famed glittery glove is going on the auction block next year, Julien’s Auctions announced Wednesday.

The glove was first spotted in the 1983 video for Jackson’s hit “Billie Jean.” Jackson is selling more than 2,000 personal items, including the gates to Neverland Ranch, in a five-day sale.

The loot will go on display before the auction begins April 21 and bids can be made in person and online. It’ll be broadcast live on Auction Network.

A portion of the proceeds are going to MusiCares, a charitable organization founded by the Recording Academy to help musicians in need. But, uh, I’m going to wager that the Gloved One is in need of most of those funds himself. He defaulted on his Neverland ranch before an investment company bought the loan. Last month, Jackson’s lawyers reached a settlement in a $7 million breach-of-contract case brought by a Bahraini sheik.

The 50-year-old auctioning off all his property is still optimistic (at least until he runs out of stuff to sell).

“(I’m) looking forward to doing a lot of great things,” Jackson told ABC News. “I think the best is yet to come in my true humble opinion.”

Sure, Michael, sure.
