Lost’s Naveen Andrews gets custody of kid
Forget “Lost,” Naveen Andrews has the best drama. TMZ reports that the actor was granted temporary custody of his 3-year-old son Naveen Joshua Wednesday morning after his mother broke the terms of their custody arrangement.
Andrews requested the hearing on the grounds that his ex took their son out of Los Angeles County with his permission and stopped him from seeing his son. He fathered the child in 2005 while briefly separated from his longtime girlfriend Barbara Hershey.
The baby mama’s defensive details are more delicious, though. Mother Elana Eustache, claimed Andrews tried to poison the toddler and that Hershey was a witch (yes, a witch. I suppose we can assume that didn’t involve a pointy black hat and a broom stick).
Not surprisingly, the attorneys asked that Eustache undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Since Eustache brought little Naveen with her to court, the boy was immediately handed over to his father. The actor left the courtroom with the boy, Hershey, and a modified custody order.
The court allowed Andrews to bring his son to Hawaii, where he’s filming “Lost” and allows either Andrews or Hershey to watch the child.
Andrews’ sole custody will stay in effect pending a full hearing on the matter next month.
