Chris Brown and Rihanna reunite

brownrihanna2Rumor is Rihanna and Chris Brown have reconciled.

“While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves,” a source told PEOPLE, which first reported the apparent reconciliation.

E! News reports that the controversial couple spent one-on-one time at the mansion of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ in Miami Beach.

“It’s very private, you can’t see onto the property,” a source said of Combs’ nearly 13,000-square-foot beachfront home. This is the first in-person meeting since Brown was arrested Feb. 8 for allegedly assaulting Rihanna, leaving her bruised and battered.

Sources had said that Brown and Rihanna were talking, including a birthday phone call from Brown.

A rep for the “Disturbia” singer denied the previous contact.

An arraignment is scheduled Thursday for Brown, who is charged with making criminal threats, but, according to the L.A. District Attorney’s Office, that might not happen.

“We don’t have the evidence yet. (LAPD detectives) are still investigating,” D.A. spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News Wednesday.

“The D.A. is being even more thorough than usual with this case. They don’t want to mess it up,” said a source close to the investigation.

At this point, no word one what this turn of events means for the D.A.’s case.

If the case does move forward, Brown will reportedly plead self-defence, claiming Rihanna attacked him.

A source told ‘Life and Style Weekly’ magazine: “Chris is already building his case. He’s saying she threw a phone at him, then hit him in the head and basically just lost it. He’s saying she attacked him.”

The Barenaked Ladies were formed in Toronto nearly 20 years ago. Their hits include “If I Had $1,000,000,” ”Brian Wilson” and “Too Little, Too Late.”

Scott Hamilton talks ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

celebrity_apprentice_groupOlympic figure skater Scott Hamilton is going for the gold this fall on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” but he’s afraid his competitive streak might get the best of him.

“I saw what happened the year before with a lot of people getting so caught up physically and mentally,” Hamilton said recently from his Nashville home. “My biggest fear was that I’d somehow get caught up in the game and misrepresent myself, my faith and my family.”

Among the 16 celebrities pitted against each other to do business tasks to raise money for a charity of their choice are former NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman, country music’s Clint Black, TV personalities Khloe Kardashian and Joan Rivers, former NFL star Herschel Walker, and comics Andrew Dice Clay and Tom Green.

“What they’re asking these celebrities to do is next to impossible,” he said. “You’ve got 24 hours to come up with something that would normally take a professional agency months and millions of dollars to do.”

Hamilton chose the Cleveland Clinic as the beneficiary of his efforts.

“Everybody asks, ‘What’s your strategy?’” he said. “The only strategy I have is to win every task.”

“The Celebrity Apprentice” premieres Sunday on NBC.

Captain Kirk for Prime Minister?

Chris Noth dragged into ex’s lawsuit

TWW-002020Chris Noth is getting involved in his own bit of law and order, this time on the part of his ex, model/actress Beverly Johnson.
Johnson has filed court papers accusing her ex, professional golf star Mark Burk, of beating and threatening to kill her – allegations Burk denies. He’s asking Noth to testify against Johnson.

The 56-year-old former model filed charges against her then-boyfriend Noth in 1995, accusing him of beating her, threatening to disfigure her dog and making death threats against her, reports the National Enquirer. Criminal charges were not brought against Noth.

In response to her allegations, Burk has filed his own lawsuit accusing Johnson of lying and wants to subpoena Noth to testify on his behalf.

“Beverly is an unstable woman,” said Burk. “She accused me of threatening to slit her throat and slit her dog’s throat – which was complete made up. Beverly accused Chris of all sort of abuse too, but criminal charges were never brought against him. Now he’ll be forced to testify against her in my court case, and the truth will finally come out.”

Noth added, “There is no basis to the claims Ms. Johnson made back in 1995. I was approached about Mr. Burk’s situation, but I haven’t been subpoenaed.”

Rosie O’Donnell stumps for foster kids

odonnellActress Rosie O’Donnell is making the rounds for her new Lifetime movie, “America,” about a psychiatrist at a youth treatment center and a foster child named America, and she’s urging people to become foster parents in real life.

She and partner Kelli Carpenter are licensed foster parents in the state of Florida and have worked against laws prohibiting same-sex family adoption.

O’Donnell is also worried that budget cuts brought on by the economic crisis will have a devastating effect on the child services system. She’s begging families to become caretakers for abused or neglected children.

“The doctors and social workers who work with this population have unbelievably large caseloads. To give the kind of individualized attention that happens in a residential treatment facility is hard to come by, especially because the facilities are being closed as program are cut and cut and cut, and they don’t have the time to individually get to know the every child they need to get to know,” she said. “Foster parents on the whole are great people but we need more of them and we need CASA advocates (Court Appointed Special Advocate).”
