Kanye West, T.I. talk about the Brown/Rihanna controversy

It wouldn’t be a Wednesday if Kanye West didn’t give his opinion on something.

West and fellow rapper T.I. have weighed in on the abuse scandal surrounding Chris Brown and Rihanna.

“I was completely devastated by the concept of what I heard,” Kanye told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday.

“Rihanna is so important to our culture…to pop music,” Kanye explained. “I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level and her age … she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time.”

If Kanye had been there, he said he would have done anything to help her.

T.I. talked to Carson Daily on his late night show and said he talked to Chris on Monday about the situation.

“He’s cool, you know. He’s a little concerned about the situation, but he’s still the same Chris,” T.I. said. “I told him, ‘This too shall pass.’”

T.I. has his own drama and may get to share a cell with Brown. He will serve time on a felony weapons charge. He defended Brown, saying: “We’re celebrities, we’re entertainers, but we’re still human – all of us. Don’t expect us not to make mistakes, because we will.”
