Dionne and Sinbad, California would like its money, honey
With only a few days left til everyone’s least favorite day of the year, tax day, California is looking for some back taxes, especially from singer Dionne Warwick and comedian Sinbad Adkins.
Sinbad owes the state $2.5 million in personal income tax while Warwick owes $2.2 million, winning the dubious honor of the top 10 of the state’s 250 worst tax debtors, according to a report issued Thursday by the Franchise Tax Board.
Debtors can get their name off the list by paying up or agreeing to an installment plan.
Warwick’s spokesman, Kevin Sasaki, claims the singer has been working with the board to pay her outstanding taxes. He did not know how much money had been repaid.
A spokeswoman for Sinbad declined to comment.
