Kanye West considers getting over himself, thanks to South Park
Leave to “South Park” to do the impossible. Kanye West claims the show has convinced him to get his ego in check.
The show skewered the notoriously narcissistic West on Wednesday’s episode, portraying him as egotistical and so out of touch he can’t take a joke (so basically they were describing Kanye West).
West’s love of himself has been part of his image and regularly tells the world how awesome he is, how he was the “voice of this generation” and saying his greatest regret was not being able to see himself perform live.
On his blog Thursday, he took a different tack.
He wrote: “SOUTH PARK MURDERED ME LAST NIGHT AND IT’S PRETTY FUNNY. IT HURTS MY FEELINGS BUT WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM SOUTH PARK! I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH. HAVING THE CRAZY EGO IS PLAYED OUT IN MY LIFE AND CAREER.”
West said that he started to stroke his ego to build up his self esteem – but now he needs to “GET PAST MYSELF.”
He also said that people don’t won’t take him seriously if he keeps it up.
“I JUST WANT TO BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM,” he said. Amen, honey-child.
And he puts his money where he mouth is. Kanye links to one of the scenes from the show and thanked the writers.
