Lane Garrison set for release

garrisonWhen actor Lane Garrison tastes sweet freedom next week, childhood friend Jessica Simpson will be there to greet him. The “Prison Break” star is getting paroled for good behavior and a car will pick him up from the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California. In 2006, he was sentenced to serve 40 months behind bars for a drunk driving incident that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old passenger.

Sources said Simpson hasn’t visited Garrison because of security risks but has been in contact with him.

Garrison pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol after the 2006 accident. The crash killed Vahagn Setian and left two teens seriously injured. He was taking them home after a party when he lost control of the vehicle.

He also settled a civil suit with Setian’s parents and crash survivor Michelle Ohana, who spent two months in a wheelchair following the accident.

Officials at the California Department of Corrections have confirmed Garrison is to be released after earning good behavior credits.
