Actor Andrew Sachs thanks Russell Brand
British actor Andrew Sachs has discovered that controversy is a good thing. He thanked Russell Brand for his prank phone calls regarding his hussy of a granddaughter because it gave the Fawlty Towers actor’s career a boost.
Brand quit his BBC radio show after he and Jonathan Ross left “grossly offensive” messages on Sachs’ answering machine, claiming Brand screwed Sachs’ granddaughter Georgina Baillie, a risque burlesque dancer.
But Sachs has forgiven them and thanked them for upping his profile since the furore.
“I came out of it very well. My profile’s up. Great! They did me good. Thank you very much,” he said.
