Jon and Kate’s siblings spill on alleged exploitation
When your family is willing to publicly say you need help, maybe you should, you know, get some help. Kate Gosselin’s brother and his wife, Kevin and Jodi Kreider, sat down on “The Early Show” Wednesday to say they believe “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ is child exploitation.
Folks might remember the couple as the resident babysitters and help with some home construction.
But as the show grew, Kevin and Jodi said they became uncomfortable with the year-round filming, even in the kids’ bedrooms.
“They’re being exploited,” Jodi said. “And it’s time for America to see the situation for what it really is, which is unfortunately, there are to laws protecting children in reality TV shows. And it’s time for the public to be aware of this.”
They claim the children do not want the cameras in their lives all the time.
But they don’t think the show will stop any time soon (especially since Monday night’s ratings were the highest they’ve ever been). Jodi said they’ve spoken to the couple about their concerns but believe now Jon and Kate are “very blinded by all of this media and… fame and the fortune.”
The couple said their relationship with Jon and Kate is very strained and they haven’t been allowed to see the children in a long time.
“They say their children is their priority, but clearly it is not,” said Jodi.
