Oasis is at it again- trouble on tour
Oasis is having trouble yet again. Infighting among band members may put its current tour in jeopardy.
The group is on tour in South America but guitarist Noel Gallagher said tension is high between the group and an unnamed member.
He wrote on his MySpace blog: “We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there’s a f*ckin’ sh*t-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course. Strange atmosphere. I wouldn’t mind but we’re in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there’s a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really.”
This isn’t the first sign of trouble on the tour. In a recent blog, Noel wrote: “We are rehearsing different songs for the set-list at the UK shows. I won’t tell you which ones in case they don’t work out. Should be at least two or three though. Hopefully four or five. But probably only one! Such is the level of commitment to these kind of things in certain quarters. We shall see.”
Those certain quarters may mean brother Liam. Noel publicly blasted his brother for his supposed lack of commitment to the band and his 19-month-ld son, Donovan.
“He’s never seen my little lad, just pictures. To a stranger it sounds ludicrous, but you wouldn’t have him in the house if he spoke to you the way he speaks to me and my family,” Noel said in a recent magazine interview. “He’s rude, arrogant, intimidating and lazy. He’s the angriest man you’ll ever meet. He’s like a man with a fork in a world of soup.”
Liam lashed back, claiming the next album would be “five years” away and tweeted, “Time of the month RKid? (sic)”
Suffering alongside the Gallagher brothers are guitarist Gem Archer, bass guitarist Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock. The group is set to begin the UK leg of their tour on June 4 at Heaton Park, Manchester.
I know rockstars are obligated to behave like total assholes and bring the drama, but come on. You’ve got a great band, a tour and fans who forgive you your bullshit. Suck it up, boys.
