Keith Urban pens song for Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman has definitely traded up. Her last husband expected her to be silent, but her current husband Keith Urban is singing her praises.
The 41-year-old country star and his writing partner Rick Nowels wrote “Thank You” – which includes the lyrics “I thank God for grace and mercy, and that you became my wife” – for Kidman.
Urban said: “Rick’s music pulled this story out of me, which became quite a confessional – much more intimate than I might have written had I intended to write about her. It was very instinctual and very much from the heart. We did a quick recording of it, and I took it home and played it for her that night. I think she was very touched.”
The song is included on Urban’s new album “Defying Gravity”, which the singer describes as “up and joyous”.
Kidman and Urban wed in 2006 and have one daughter, Sunday Rose, together.
