Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize
In a stunning decision, President Barack Obama has won the coveted Nobel Peace prize. Nobel observers were shocked by the unexpected choice so early in the Obama presidency, which began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline. The decision was designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism. The White House had no immediate response to the surprising announcement.

Linda McMahon To Run for Senate
The WWE CEO has resigned in order to run for US Senate. She plans on running as a republican, against the incumbent democratic senator from Connecticut, Chris Dodd. McMahon, 60, launched her candidacy saying the five term incumbent Dodd has “lost his way and our trust.” Dodd plans to run for a sixth term next year and is seen as one of the most vulnerable Senate Democrats. McMahon’s husband, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, will assume her duties as CEO, the company said in a statement.
This move is not the first one made by a professional wrestler. Jesse Ventura ran for office in Minnesota and became governor. If you ask me, politicians and wrestlers are in the same field. Entertainment.

In case you missed it, Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech with a tirade that Beyonce should have won because, in his view, she “had the best video of all-time”.

Patrick Swayze Dead at Age 57
Patrick Swayze, well known for his role in the movie Dirty Dancing and Ghost, has died. He fought a losing battle with pancreatic cancer for over a year. According his publicist, his family was by his side. R.I.P.

With the first season of the T.O. Show over, VH1 wants to make sure that the hit show comes back for another season.
The show averaged 1.5 million viewers per episode! I think T.O. needs to concentrate on football and leave the tv shows alone. When you are done playing ball, then you can use your fame to make tv shows, but for now, PLAY BALL!!

Christina Milian Ties The Knot
Singer/actress Christina Milian and music producer The Dream tied the knot at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Vegas.
Sources say the wedding was a pretty cheap one. Christina supposedly rented her dress for $200 and The Dream rented his tux for $100. Good luck to the happy couple. I guess.

Billy Mays dead at age 50
The popular TV pitchman Billy Mays has died. He was pronounced dead at his Tampa home Sunday morning. His wife, Deborah, found her husband’s body. She said the family doesn’t expect to make any public statement and asked for privacy.
There was no evidence of a break-in or other foul play. His body has already been removed from his home and an autopsy will be performed between today and tomorrow. TMZ is reporting that Mays was struck in the head by something that fell from a luggage rack during a rough landing Saturday aboard a U.S. Airways flight (shades of Natasha Richardson anyone?) when the plane’s front tire blew out after the jet touched down. Reports: Michael Jackson dead at 50
It’s a bad day to be an 80′s pop icon (Mr. T, please, wherever you are, be very careful, okay?) Michael Jackson died today at age 50, according to reports. Jackson had been rushed by ambulance to a Los Angeles-area hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest.
Capt. Steve Ruda, an official with the Los Angeles Fire Department, told the L.A. Times the pop star was not breathing when paramedics responded to a call at his Los Angeles home about 12:30 p.m. PST.
The paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center. His family were reported on their way to the hospital.
Jackson was about to launch a series of London concerts, which were postponed a few days due to his poor health.
Jackson leaves behind three children and two ex-wives, Lisa Marie Presley, whom he married in 1994, and to Deborah Rowe, whom he married in 1996.
Rowe is the mother of his son, Prince Michael Jackson Jr., and his daughter, Paris Michael Katherine. Jackson’s second son, Prince Michael II, was born in 2001, to an anonymous surrogate mother.

According to KTLA reports. Pop Sensation Michael Jackson has been rushed to hospital for cardiac arrest. TMZ is reporting that Michael is not doing well. Apparently the outcome is not looking well. We hope that is not true. Michael you need to fight through this. Come on man. We hope for the best and not the worst. You are too young to die.

After a three year battle with cancer, Farrah Fawcett has passed away. She was 62. Her spokesman, Paul Bloch, says Fawcett died Thursday morning in a Santa Monica hospital. TMZ.com is reporting that the actress’ longtime companion, Ryan O’Neal, and Fawcett’s friend, Alana Stewart, were with her at the time of her death.
Ryan O’Neal, father of her son, Redmond, recently said they hoped to get married before her death. No word on that or whether he was able to get Redmond released for a visit before his mother died. Fawcett had last rites from a Catholic priest on Wednesday.
For those living in a hole, Fawcett starred in “Charlie’s Angel’s” in the 70s, along with the dreams of many a young man (and some women) thanks to her famous red swimsuit poster.
