‘New Moon’ actor Charlie Bewley is wickedly wonderful

charlie-bewleyRobert Pattinson might be good and sexy, but Charlie Bewley is aiming for wickedly delicious.

Bewley is playing Demetri in “New Moon,” the follow up to Twilight and he told Twilight Lexicon: “He (Robert Pattinson) looks a lot like my little brother Andrew with whom I love a good scrap. We’ve been a long swim away from each other for a while him and I, and I was hoping Rob would stand in for a couple of rounds. But he was too busy being a superstar… Meh.”

According to Bewley, “Demetri is a lethal killer with a pretense of charm. Actually, pretense is a little harsh – he genuinely is a Casanova of life, and this might be his biggest weapon.

“Felix and Demetri both carry huge threats in our individual powers: Felix is the enforcer; Demetri is the cat to the mouse? thrill of the chase, yada. But it’s when you know you are the best, unrivaled for so long? complacent, almost arrogantly threatening becomes you; so couple that with centuries of acquired knowledge and experience? that’s a whole other level of danger.”

His experience on a the set was a good one.

“The experience on the New Moon set was a thrilling one. It’s this big hive of activity and everyone is working their proverbials off to pull this thing together. The crew were all brilliant, but I have to mention that Chris Weisz is just the coolest guy to work with. I still don’t really understand how he does it, but he just does, and brilliantly efficiently at that, without breaking any eggs,” said Bewley.

“It was great hanging around with the cast, on and off set. There are some great figures in this flick. Big shout back home to Jamie Cameo-Power, very entertaining. Special thanks also to the make-up department who were a lot of fun and kept us all awake and entertained at 5 a.m. call-times.

“The most challenging thing was keeping away from the craft (services) tent. The food they serve up is damn good and I have a nut addiction which rivals your average lipid-deficient Brazilian squirrel.”

Jim Carrey says new movie is like ‘acting on Mars’

jimcarreyJim Carrey says motion capture filming is like “acting on Mars”. He’s currently doing a version of “A Christmas Carol” using the technique, which involves both voice overs and physical acting.

“A lot of people think of this work, they’ll look at these movies and they’ll think you did a voice over. It absolutely in every way and even in more ways than a regular film are complete performances by actors. You have no reference point around you. You’re on a mo-cap stage and there are grids and there are outlines of furniture and things like that, but you pretty much have to create the mood in your head, which is a little bit more difficult than doing a regular film where you’re helped by the scenery, you’re helped by the costumes,” said Carrey.

“Gary Oldman and I were together doing scenes face-to-face and going, ‘It’s like acting on Mars.’ You’ve got dots all over your face, you’ve got pincers with HD cameras sticking about this far away from your face, and you have to transcend all of that and give a performance and believe it. So it was challenging in certain ways.”

For director Robert Zemeckis, the method is reminiscent of the theater.

He explained: “What’s great about it is we don’t have to do things out of continuity. We don’t have to break things up for coverage. The cast do the scene from beginning to end just like they’re doing theatre, so the pacing and the flow of the scene is all up to them.”

The movie is set for release Nov. 6.

Sienna Miller gets a litle gunshy

miller1I’m a little afraid of Sienna Miller armed, so it’s reassuring that she was “terrified” of handling the guns in her new movie.

The actress plays the Baroness in the “GI Joe” travesty remake and when she was given a pistol, she looked so worried producers had to take her aside to make sure she was OK.

“It was scary. I got taken away from the group! They said, ‘Sienna, you’re a villain in this film and you look like you’re terrified of the gun.’ And I said ‘I am!’ But we were shooting live ammunition that could kill someone,” said Miller.

“It’s a powerful piece of machinery, and it takes a lot of strength to pull that thing back. I was trying to do it with two hands because I wasn’t strong by that point. But then I got my MP3 rifle and you put it on automatic and it gets 14 rounds out per second!”

But holding a gun got her into character, she admits.

She said: “I didn’t feel like a big villain until I got my machine gun. But then I thought ‘I can get into this!’ The Baroness is fundamentally a villain, a femme fatale. A nasty piece of work.”

Hilary Duff has high hopes for ‘Bonnie and Clyde’

duffHilary Duff thinks robbing banks and killing people is beautiful. And, with the right soundtrack and director, she’s probably right.

The actress is set to star in “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” and says she can wait to get started.

“I’m really excited. I think it’s going to be really beautiful. We’re shooting in the South, and we want to really show how hot and dry it is…and the clothes! It’s a tragic love story, and that’s what we want to get across,” said the actress, who will play Bonnie Parker.

“And, also, how young they were. People don’t realize that they were, like 18 years old doing this. In the version in ’67, with Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty, they were already adults, but Bonnie and Clyde were actually teenagers. So they were very ahead of their time. They were rebels, you know?”

Duff, who better prove herself with this role (come on, from Lizzie McGuire and “Cinderella Story” to replacing Dunaway?), has been throwing herself into researching her character to produce the most accurate portrayal she can.

She told Nylon magazine: “I’m trying to do as much research as I can on who Bonnie was. She was a very sweet, likable girl that the whole town loved, and she was always daydreaming about who was going to come take her away, and how she was going to have a life that means more. So she is kind of the girl-next-door that got herself in a lot of trouble.”

Robet Pattinson would rather be a wizard

pattinson4Vampires are cool (literally), but wizards are the hot ticket for Robert Pattinson.

The “New Moon” actor said in a recent interview: “In reality I’d probably prefer to be a wizard.

“I mean, the vampire thing, the way I sort of played it is very depressing… not like it’s reality or anything.”

Um, yes, vampires are not reality (though if they were, Rob can nibble on me any time he wants).

Speaking of nibbling, Pattinson is still enjoying his junk food.

He told a Japanese reporter: “I love bad food, junk food. My body runs off junk food.”

To stay in shape, though, he jogs. “I run quite a bit and read a lot of books… I don’t really like relaxing too much. I feel like I’m wasting time when I’m relaxing.”

The Todd needs a lawyer

thetodOh, no, Todd! Robert Maschio, who played The Todd on “Scrubs” allegedly got drunk and tried to choke a man at a Make-a-Wish event last year.

According to a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Tom Binder claims Maschio got smashed while tending bar at a Make-A-Wish event in Santa Monica last year.

The court documents claim he got so crazy drunk when bidding on celebrity items finished that he screamed, “You don’t know who I am! I just raised $8,000 for this organization, you little piece of shit!”

Next, he grabbed the complainant “by his necktie and began choking him, lifting Plaintiff partly off the ground and yelling even louder: ‘Let’s take this outside,’” according to the lawsuit.

Binder is suiing for assault and battery and seeking unspecified damages. ABC is also named as a defendant, because the suit claims Tom was a “celebrity representative” of “Scrubs.”

Kanye West’s ‘Paranoid,’ featuring Rihanna

Kanye West’s new video “Paranoid” has hit the Web and features Rihanna. And, despite West’s inherent douchbaggery, the video and the song are both pretty good:

Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger house-hunting

jacksonkrugerJoshua Jackson and Diane Kruger are planning to play house. the couple, who have been dating for three years, are looking for a house together in Vancouver, Canada, where Jackson will film his J.H. Abrams’ show, “Fringe.”

“We’ve already made the commitment to do this together,” Jackson said.

For now, however, the couple is doing the long distance thing.

He explained to TV show ‘Entertainment Tonight Canada’: “You’re there and you can see the face and you can see the sarcasm,” Jackson told “Entertainment Tonight Canada.”

You’d think after three years, “commitment” would mean marriage, but splitting the rent is good, too, I suppose.

Jennifer Lopez’s acting fears

jennifer_lopezI know Alex O’Loughlin can act, but Jennifer Lopez I’m not so sure about. And apparently neither is she. The actress says she’s scared she will “forget how to act”.

She’s returning to the big screen after a three year absence to star with the “Moonlight” lead in “The Back-Up Plan” and getting back into the swing of things intimidating for her.

She told “Entertainment Tonight”: “The few days before, I got really nervous. I was like, ‘What if I forgot how to act?’ ”

Lopez plays pet shop owner Zoe in the film, an unlucky in love woman who is desperate for a child. She decides to conceive using artificial insemination, but soon after meets the perfect guy Stan (who on God’s green earth named that character? Stan? Stan? Really?), played by O’Loughlin.

Lopez claims she got back into the swing of things quickly, even with her twins in tow.

“I bring the babies to work with me. I love it. Honestly, one of the best days of my life was the first day back working on this film.

“I wanted to do this film really badly and bringing my babies with me that first morning, I was like, ‘Oh my God, they’re with me, I’m making a movie, they’re here!’ It’s great having kids on set. It’s the best.”

Carey Hart says marriage is for grown-ups

pnkhartCarey Hart said he and wife Pink had to “grow up” to save their marriage. The couple recently reconciled after splitting for several months and Hart said they learned how to be together during the separation.

“We both had a lot of growing up to do over the course of the last year. No relationship’s perfect and sometimes you have to take a couple of steps backward to move forward which is what happened to us. We were apart for about a year and we started putting things back together and this is a big part of the putting back together process,” Carey said in a radio interview on Australia’s 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show.

“We had to come up with a system in a way for us both to accomplish our goals. Here we are in Australia and it’s our first attempt and it’s going amazingly so far.”

Melissa Gilbert’s lost love with Lowe and lost child

gilbertMelissa Gilbert is spilling dirt on her less-than-wholesome Hollywood experience in a new book, “Prairie Tales,” which includes her ill-fated romance with Rob Lowe.

The former “Little House of the Prairie” star met Rob Lowe when she was just 14 and said she fell “hopelessly and stupidly in love” (a la Laura and Almonzo, if you recall). She agreed to marry Lowe when he proposed in 1986.

But Gilbert conceived a lovechild and then suffered a miscarriage after a nervous Lowe called off their romance.

After telling Lowe she was pregnant with his child, she told People magazine, “He said very softly, ‘I can’t be a father.’ Before I could respond, he said, ‘I can’t be a husband. I’m so sorry.’”

In the wake of his refusal, Gilbert lost the child.

I had lost my baby and my relationship with Rob… and it hurt like hell,” she said.

Melissa Joan Hart asks for prayers for her mother

Actress Melissa Joan Hart can’t snap her fingers and make it better, but she’s hoping for a little divine intervention. The actress is asking her fans to keep her mother in their hearts and prayers.

Hart’s mother, Paula, was in surgery for eight-hours to remove a brain tumor in May and her daughter has posted a request on her MySpace blog asking fans for help.

“All of my 6 siblings and I gathered at my house and the hospital for the entire week to be strong for each other. She is out of the woods and on her way to recovery, luckily she is a good healer and has 7 children to lend a hand in times like these,” she writes.

“Prayer is a big part of my life and it was very crucial last week for my mommy. I ask that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she fights her way to a full and wonderful recovery.”

The two have had a close relationship both personally and professionally. Paula was the executive producer on the actress’ hit show ABC’s “Sabrina the Teenage Witch.” She also produced her daughter’s recent U.S. TV movie My Fake Fiance, according to People.com.

Patrick Swayze’s ‘The Beast’ slain by A&E?

swayzePatrick Swayze is in a battle for his life, but it looks like the battle for his show, “The Beast,” is over. It looked like A&E has canceled the cop drama.

Although the network claims no official decision has been made, sources told Variety that the show has been scrapped after 13 episodes. The final show aired April 23.

Swayze has other things on his mind than his career at the moment. The 56-year-old is fighting pancreatic cancer and rumors have circulated for months that he’s at death’s door. Last month, his rep denied a Florida radio station’s report he had died. But there’s no word of a possible replacement for Swayze, just an end to the season.

As much as I’m sure Swayze would like to continue with the show, maybe his health should be the focus for now.

Report: Carradine died in sex act

carradine1What a way to go. David Carradine died during a sex game gone awry, sources in Bangkok, Thailand are reporting.

Carradine’s body was discovered in a hotel room and local reports had suggested he committed suicide.

He was discovered by a maid, naked and hanged. Stories spread that his genitals were tied, but the star’s friend, attorney Vicki Roberts, and his manager Chuck Binder, denied the lurid stories, claiming that being naked and trussed up like a pig is somehow the result of natural causes.

But a statement from Carradine’s representative now indicates the actor died during a sex act.

His spokesperson told TMZ.com, “We can confirm 100 per cent that he never would have committed suicide. It was an accidental death. Everybody is in shock.”

So it looks like David Carradine died trying a little auto-erotic asphyxiation if the quote by a Bangkok police officer to The Sun is to be believed. For those not familiar with the sexual proclivity, it’s where victims achieve heightened sexual pleasure by restricting their air supply. Fun, huh?

The cop told reporters, “A rope was attached to his neck and also to his penis”.

Carradine was in Thailand to shoot new movie Stretch. He was 72.

Jamie Lynn Sigler and Jerry Ferrara still going strong

***EXCLUSIVE*** Actors Jamie-Lynn Sigler (L) and Jerry FerraraThe unlikely romance between Jamie Lynn Sigler and “Entourage” actor Jerry Ferrara is “going well,” says the actress.

They’ve kept the seven-month long relationship fairly quiet, but Sigler says she can’t keep the seven-month romance a secret anymore.

She told HollyScoop.com, “This is the first time I’ve ever dated anyone in the industry and it’s kind of nice. It’s nice to have someone that understands kind of what you do; it’s a thing that we have in common a thing that we share. It’s all wonderful all good.”

The couple met on the set of “Entourage” (in a life imitates art sort of way as Sigler played an actress who hooked up with his character, Turtle) and Sigler said she was cautious during the early days of their relationship: “We started dating after we worked together so we weren’t quite sure how it was going to be, but it’s so much fun… Every day at work is such a blast.”
