Lady Gaga discusses drug drama

gagaLike nearly every musician out there, Lady Gaga faced a drug addiction, one her father saved her from.

The “Poker Face” singer used to spend hours taking cocaine alone in her New York apartment, until her father Joseph Germanotta ordered her to get clean.

“My father is a really powerful man, a telecom guy. So he looked at me one day and said, ‘You’re fucking up, kid.’ And I looked at him and thought, ‘How does he know that I’m high right now?’” Lady Gaga, real name Stephanie Germanotta, said.

“And he never said a word about the drugs, not one word. But he said, ‘I just wanna tell you that anyone you meet while you’re like this, and any friend that you make in the future while you are with this thing, you will lose.’ And we never talked about it again.”

She began taking coke after she dropped out of New York University in 2005. The singer’s friends also became worried about her erratic behavior and begged her to leave her apartment and spend time with them.

“My cocaine soundtrack was The Cure. I loved all their music, but I listened to this one song on repeat while I did bags and bags of cocaine,” said Gaga. “I didn’t think there was anything wrong with me until my friends came over and said, ‘Are you doing this alone?’ ‘Um, yes. Me and my mirror.’But I was able to stop, because I was panicking more on the drugs than I was sober. So I’m fine now.”

She still likes to party, though, despite pleas from her record label to dial it back.

“I can drink, and I’m not going to say that I don’t party. But it’s not everyday, and it’s no longer a tool for my creativity,” she said. “The label gets mad at me for talking about it – they say, ‘We don’t want people to think that you’re not a pop star.’ But I am a pop star. I’m a pop star with a story!”

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s worrying mind

simpsonAshlee Simpson-Wentz is starting the worry early. The actress is already concerned about what type of women her toddler son, Bronx Mowgli, with Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, may bring home.

“Pete is definitely overprotective, I know that. And I’m definitely going to be laying the boundaries down,” she said on “The Rachael Ray Show.”

“But it’s different for a girl than with a guy, so I think we’ll have to grow together and be able to lay the boundaries. But with Bronx, there will be a curfew and all that. I don’t want him to grow up in the middle of Hollywood.”

Simpson is set to star in the CW’s revamp of “Melrose Place” and has been trying to stay in shape, even throughout her pregnancy.

“I could do the splits when I was nine months pregnant. I could put my leg over my head still. I used to be a ballerina,” said the former back up dancer.

Simpson will play Violet Foster, a saucy temptress, and denies her husband is bothered by the scenes.

“He’s not a jealous person, and it’s work. It is what it is. And believe me, there’s some jaw droppers for Violet! But I’d rather be kissing my husband.”

Jon and Kate plus Hate?

57981223I guess an amicable divorce is off the table. Jon Gosselin told “Good Morning America” that he despises his estranged wife Kate, and believes she took his wedding ring.

The reality TV star said he set down his ring one day and it vanished. No one else could have taken it, according to Jon.

He also accused his soon-to-be ex of verbally abusing him and beating him down during their marriage, which anyone who watched “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ knows.

This was his first TV interview since divorce papers were filed in June. Kate, however, has had plenty to say during her interview appearances in recent weeks.

A longer version of Jon’s interview airs tonight on ABC’s “Primetime: Family Secrets” and I’m sure it’s full of even more dirt.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian looking for a love nest

rimescibrianLeAnn Rimes and her new man are looking for a new place. The singer/actress (formally) split from her husband Dean Sheremet last week and now she and fellow adulterer Eddie Cibrian are househunting in Los Angeles.

RadarOnline reports that rimes was in “great spirits, smiling and very upbeat” as she visited a secluded two-storey property in Beverly Hills.

The 27-year-old star then viewed an impressive ranch in a gated community in suburban Calabasas.

Cibrian is divorcing his wife, Brandi Glanville, after a tabloid affair with Rimes while filming “Northern Lights” and rumor is the two will shack up at her new place.

Mila Kunis On The Bus To Hell

Seth MacFarlane has provided Mila Kunis with the bus to hell.

The actress fears her dark sense of humor, more than enabled by her role as Meg Griffin on “The Family Guy,” will send her straight down when she dies. “I’m going to hell so fast. Like on an escalator. It’s going to be a straight shot. There is not even going to be a stop in limbo,” she said.

Jack Tweed back in jail

tweedThe widower of British reality TV star Jade Goody has appeared in court on a rape charge.

Police in London say they charged Jack Tweed, 22, after they received a complaint from a woman. At a court hearing Saturday he was ordered detained until a further appearance Sept. 21.

Tweed and Goody married in February, a month before her death at 27 from cervical cancer.

This isn’t Tweed’s first brush with the law. Just a few weeks after Goody’s death, he was jailed for 12 weeks for attacking a cab driver. He has said he has struggled to cope with Goody’s death.

Gwen Stefani’s parental fears

gwen-stefaniGwen Stefani is a mom, but she’s still scared of her parents.

The singer, mother to Kingston, 3, and Zuma, 1, claims the only reason she has never gone too crazy is because she was worried about what her parents would say.

“I was thinking today when I was driving, ‘How am I going to make sure that Kingston never does anything bad and doesn’t get arrested?’ I was thinking, ‘How did I stay out of trouble?’ And I know it’s just because my parents are so strict. I mean, I’m still scared of them!”

According to Stefani, being a mother is the most important part of her life, but is aware her children’s upbringing is totally different from her own.

“I grew up in a normal family. The other evening, at the end of the night, I was there with Kingston putting him to bed, reading all his books, getting his diaper on and putting him in his crib. Then I got Zuma, nursed him, put him to sleep. Then I went to a Hollywood party! It is extremely different from how my parents raised me,” she said.

“I’ve always worked really hard, and the hardest thing I’ve ever done is have kids! Everything from getting up in the morning, to trying to be consistent, to trying to have the right feelings. But, of course, the rewards are great.”

Demi Moore denies going under the knife

mooreDemi Moore came by her looks naturally. Or so she says. Mrs. Ashton Kutcher is fighting back against allegations that she’s had hundreds of thousands of dollars in plastic surgery.

She Twittered Monday that she has stretch marks and extra skin, just like any mom with three kids.

Someone who claimed that Moore could not go from stretch marks and saggy skin, once on display in an old paparazzi shot of her at the beach, to her current body.

“I still have excess skin & stretch marks!” she tweeted.

When someone responded to that remark with disbelief, saying she did not, Moore added, “Ahh hate to break it to you but I do. Comes with having a few kids 4 some of us!”

The twitter exchanges come days after an interview in which Moore, 46, denied having anything done:

“It’s completely false, I’ve never had it done. But I would never judge those who have. If it’s the best thing for them, then I don’t see a problem. On the other hand, I don’t like the idea of having an operation to hold up the ageing process – it’s a way to combat your neurosis. The scalpel won’t make you happy…” she said.

“That said, the day when I start crying when I look at myself in the mirror might be the day when I’m less adamant about not having it done. For the moment I prefer to be a beautiful woman of my age than try desperately to look 30.”

Erin Andrews’ naked video nightmare

People Winfrey Erin AndrewsESPN’s Erin Andrews lived a “nightmare” when secretly taped nude footage of her hit the web. She discussed the incident with Oprah in an interview that will air Friday, Sept. 11, as part of a “Summer Headlines” show that kicks off the 24th season of the show.

Andrews’ attorney has said the blurry five-minute video was taken at a hotel without her knowledge and she is pursuing criminal charges and plans to file lawsuits against whoever shot the video and anyone who publishes it.

She’ll head back on air Thursday night for the first time since the video was leaked. She’ll be the sideline reporter for ESPN’s broadcast of South Carolina at North Carolina State.

Chris Brown remembers the Rihanna beatdown clearly

chris brown 2 180308Chris Brown does not have amnesia. Despite reports that he doesn’t remember beating Rihanna, based on a clip of his interview with Larry King set to air tonight, he assures people he remembers, he’s ashamed and he is sorry.

He issued this statement about the night that led to his arrest:

“There have been reports on the Internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.

“That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like four or five times – and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.

“The first four times – or however many times it was – I gave the same answer – which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time – or whatever it was – I just misspoke. I was asked, ‘Do you remember doing it?’ and I said, ‘No.’

“Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before.

“As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am, and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future.”

Lily Cole thanks Heath Ledger

lilycoleLily Cole isn’t just a pretty face any more and that’s thanks to Heath Ledger. She claims the late actor taught her the tricks of the trade while they were filming “The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus.”

The model landed a small role in the movie, filming in 2007, and was ecstatic to join Terry Gilliam’s fantasy epic, opposite Ledger and Christopher Plummer.

She admits she was nervous about the role, but said Ledger, who died midway through the shoot, was a great friend and mentor.

“He definitely helped me. From the beginning, he understood that I would be overwhelmed and scared by the size of the project. He encouraged me and said he was really proud of me, constantly fed me support,” said Cole. She nearly gave up on the film when Ledger was found dead of an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.

His role was taken on by three other actors – Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp.

“Everyone loved Heath. For everyone who knew him, (his death) was devastating. The practicalities of continuing the production were difficult, but it seemed irrelevant,” said Cole.

“Johnny (Depp) slipped seamlessly into the role, but that didn’t stop it being bizarre. I thought I was in at the deep end in the beginning, then look what happened!”

Macaulay Culkin a Jacko sperm donor?

culkinThe death of Michael Jackson has opened many a can of worms when it comes to the parentage of his three kids. Maybe he was right to put masks on them whie he was alive because now the press is foaming at the mouth for dirt.

The Sun now claims that actor Macaulay Culkin is the mystery dad of Jackson’s youngest son Blanket. The paper claims Culkin donated sperm to father Prince Michael II, age 7, aka “Blanket.”

Jackson and Culkin became friends after the younger man shot to fame in “Home Alone” in 1990.

“It is well known Jackson and Macaulay shared a unique bond,” said a source. “Now rumors are spreading like wildfire that Macaulay, who Jackson nicknamed Mack, is actually Blanket’s biological dad.”

Reports have circulated since Jackson’s death in June that he isn’t the biological father of any of his kids, including Blanket, his brother Michael, 12, or their 11-year-old sister Paris.

Now sources close to Jackson say the Thriller star asked Culkin for the donation to help him complete his “perfect” family.

“This isn’t just chitter-chatter, even Culkin suspects he’s Blanket’s father. So many names have been mentioned as prospective dads, and this is probably the wackiest yet. But Jackson and Culkin were best friends. He was one of the few people Jackson really trusted and Mack never let him down,” added the source. “Really, Jackson idolized him. That’s why he asked Mack to donate sperm. Deep down, I think he always wished Mack was his son. Creating Blanket was the next best thing.”

Culkin is godfather to Jacko’s other two children and has refused to comment on the matter.

Yesterday Jackson’s brother Marlon appeared to confirm the star did not conceive his children naturally.

He said: “Those were Michael’s kids – regardless of where they came from.”

Jackson will be buried on Thursday in a gold-plated coffin in the Hollywood Hills.

Joan Rivers nearly had Khadafy in her apartment

Pierre HotelJoan Rivers is a terror, but she was this close to letting her apartment to a terrorist. The actress and television personality said Libyan dictator Moammar Khadafy wanted to rent her $25 million apartment in the East 60s in New York City.

However, Rivers told Page Six she was afraid “he would have roasted cows in my living room.” The funny lady said Khadafy saw photos of her apartment online from the party she threw for her new TV Land series, “How’d You Get So Rich?”

“The Libyan ambassador called my (broker) and offered over $200,000 a week so he could use it for entertaining . . . I thought it was great. I said I would give half the rent to Lockerbie.”

Rivers said she would have given the other half “to have an exterminator come and clean the apartment when he was done. But my houseman was not happy. He doesn’t know how to cook llama,” Rivers said, apparently unaware llamas live in South America, not North Africa.

When Khadafy ultimately decided not to rent the place, Rivers said, “It broke my heart.”

Nicolas Cage makes a sale

cageNicolas Cage has finally found a buyer in this tight market. Fashion designer Christian Audigier has reportedly snapped up the actor’s famous Bel Air property.

Cage’s mansion was once home to both Dean Martin and Tom Jones and has been on the market since 2007. Even the rich and famous have been affected by the plummeting real estate market. Cage cut the asking price in half earlier this summer, though it’s not known exactly what Audigier, who also co-owns the Holmby Hills mansion Michael Jackson called home during the last months of his life, paid.

According, to RadarOnline.com, Cage was selling at a drastically reduced $17.5 million.

“I believe it was a one-to-one deal. Christian knows Nicolas and they did the deal between themselves,” said a source.

Cage is busy offloading plenty of property. He has also reduced the price of his 12 bedroom estate in Rhode Island, which hit the property market last year for $16 million. According to RealEstalker.com, he’s now asking $12 million for the home. On the market elsewhere is a two-unit condominium at the Olympic Tower in New York, two homes in New Orleans, Louisiana and a house in Las Vegas.

Reports suggest he recently sold property in Malibu, California and a castle in Germany. He still owns an estate in England, a second home in Malibu and a spread in the Bahamas, so we’re pretty sure he won’t be homeless.

Carrie Prejean suing pageant people

prejeanFormer Miss California USA Carrie Prejean is busy making trouble again. She’s suing pageant officials for libel, slander and religious discrimination, accusing them of telling her to stop mentioning God even before her controversial remarks against gay marriage.

Prejean was fired in June by pageant officials who said she missed several scheduled appearances.

The former beauty queen filed suit against California pageant executive director Keith Lewis and actress and former Miss USA Shanna Moakler, who was a co-director before resigning in protest of Prejean.

The former Miss California’s lawyer, Chuck LiMandri, said the officials’ claim Prejean was MIA is untrue and that the real cause of her ousting were the controversial remarks in April during the Miss USA pageant that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

LiMandri said Prejean filed suit only after he sought detailed information on what events Prejean missed.

“I wanted to give them every opportunity to provide the basis for those claims,” LiMandri said.

He said he found no proof that Prejean missed events. “There were no contract violations,” he said.

Ja Rule terrifies the Aussies

jaruleJa Rule was busy reaffirming the silly American stereotype in Australia recently. The rapper terrified residents in the Sydney suburb of Pyrmont when he forgot the Aussies drive on the left and headed down the righthand lane after being distracted by views of Sydney Harbor.

His publicist Adam Cubito said: “I think he was more interested in looking at the view of Sydney than he was keeping his eyes on the road.”

Ja Rule was in town for his show at the Big Top event at Luna Park Saturday. He appeared on radio station Nova 969 to promote the show and talked about his love for fast cars. The show’s hos, Kate Ritchie, offered him a drive of her mother’s Toyota Seca with her colleagues Merrick Watts and Tim Ross.

“He powered out into Pyrmont with Kate in the front and the show’s other hosts Merrick and Rosso in the car and onto the wrong side of the road,” said Cubito.

“They were all shouting at him to get back on the right side. I think there were a few people ducking out of the way. He obviously thought he was still in America. Luckily there was no damage.”

Ja Rule was set to perform in Australia last month but had troubles with his visa due to his 2007 arrest for possessing a gun.

Simon Cowell gives good present

simon_cowellSimon Cowell is a hard judge, but a hell of a friend. The “X Factor” judge jumped a waiting list to get reality show winner Alexandra Burke’s birthday present.

Burke had her eye on a padded black Chanel handbag with a year-long waiting list, but Cowell managed to sweet talk his way to the top of the list for the $10,000 bag.

Burke who turned 21 on Tuesday, was speechless when presented with the gift.

“Alex was in tears. Simon called in a few favors to make her day extra special. Things just couldn’t be better for her,” said a source.

She also got pretty nice presents from the other “X Factor” judges. Cheryl Cole, Burke’s mentor on the show, gave her a $7,500 vacation at the Constance Lemuria resort in the Seychelles. Dannii Minogue gave her a gray Tabitha bag.

Jerry O’Connell raps to the twins

Loews Century PlazaForget “Twinkle Twinkle,” Jerry O’Connell is going with rap songs for his twins’ bedtime music.

The actor has eight-month-old twin daughters Charlie and Dolly with wife Rebecca Romijn and puts them to bed with child-friendly versions of his favorite songs.

“At bedtime I softly sing rap songs by guys like Slick Rick or Biggie Smalls, but without the curse words. I have favorite little bedtime nighties I put them in which say, ‘I love Project Runway.’” said O’Connell. His wife recently appeared on an episode of the Lifetime reality show.

O’Connell said he’s always learning about fatherhood and especially enjoys dressing his daughters in pretty clothes.

“I grew up with all boys in my family, where there was no place for girlie stuff. But it’s amazing to walk into my house now. Everything is pink!” he said.

“When we first brought Dolly and Charlie home, Rebecca would say, ‘We’re going out, let’s put them in this dress. At first I thought it was impractical. They’re going to poop and throw up in it anyway. What’s the point? But now I understand dressing girls. Now that they’ve got a bit more hair, I can experiment. I can do mini-pigtails on Charlie, and on Dolly I can get barrettes in her hair.”

Kelly Osbourne talks long road to recovery

kelly-osbourneRock and roll heiress Kelly Osbourne became addicted to Vicodin by the young age of 17.

She first got access to the powerful drug when she had her tonsils taken out at 13.

About three years later she was offered it in pill form and was soon taking up to 50 tablets a day because it gave her the confidence to cope with the new-found fame she had due to appearing in MTV show “The Osbournes” and helped her cope with her mother Sharon’s cancer battle. Osbourne ultimately headed to rehab four times.

In her new book “Fierce by Kelly Osbourne”, she revealed: “By this point I was waking up and emptying six Vicodin into my hand. Soon I was taking 50 pills a day. Most people would overdose on 10. My friends called me ‘Noddy’ because I fell asleep all the time.

“My parents suspected. Mum would say, ‘Darling, are you taking something? Please tell your mummy.’ But I was good at lying.”

Her lies were ultimately discovered and her parents sent her to Malibu’s Promises clinic.

Although she spent 30 days there receiving treatment, Osbourne admits she wasn’t ready to beat her addiction and it took three more stints in different rehab centers. During the last round, she finally realized she had a serious problem.

“After 30 days, I left rehab. For the first time, I felt hopeful. I knew I’d been given another chance at my life, at my career, at happiness. I wanted to grab it,” she said.
