Jackson’s doctor denies paternity, says singer danced in his office

arnie-kleinThe alleged biological father of Michael Jackson’s children denied it today.

Jackson’s longtime dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, is now a professor of Dermatology and Medicine at UCLA medical school, and is a favorite of stars such as Elizabeth Taylor.

“All I can tell you is, to the best of my knowledge, I am not the father of these children,” Klein said. “I can’t answer it any other way. I don’t want to feed any of this insanity going around.” He did express an affection for his friend’s children adding, “These are brilliant children and I want them in no way to be harmed … People should know the depth of (Jackson’s) love of his children.”

He also denied the rumor that he’s being investigated for prescribing some of the singer’s dangerous pain medications and anesthesia.

“I didn’t give him this crap they are talking about,” Klein said in a new interview with Good Morning America. “I’ve never prescribed Oxycontin in my life. How am I going to prescribe Diprivan (a.k.a. Propofol, which is used for anesthesia) when I don’t understand how to use it?

“I am not even under any examination by the police as one of those individuals,” he said. “I have not been examined by anyone. I have not been contacted by the police in Los Angeles.”

Klein also said Jackson did not appear to be in severe pain or to be battling addiction during their last meeting, which was the Monday before Jackson’s death.

“He danced in my office. He danced for my patients. He was very muscular and he was very, very happy and dancing,” Klein said. “I saw nothing at that point in time that would make me worry whatsoever.”

Keanu Reeves looks to cook

reevesIf the acting thing doesn’t work out, Keanu Reeves has a back up ready: cooking.

The “Private Lives of Pippa Lee” actor has been honing his skills in the kitchen and is thinking about taking some time to focus on food.

Reeves was inspired by the book “Molecular Gastronomy: Exploring the Science of Flavor’”by French TV chef-and-chemist Herve This.

“I am dabbling in cooking and looking at becoming a chef. Herve is fantastic. I didn’t really cook before but this book may be changing my life,” said Reeves.

In addition to learning to cook, the actor has been at the computer for the first time (where the hell do these people come from? How do they live without blogs and endless games of Bejeweled Blitz?)

“My friend finally bought me a computer. And of course I use it now,” said Reeves.

Lindsay Lohan avoids ‘The Hangover’

88702625EM007_LINDSAY_LOHANLindsay Lohan probably shouldn’t be in the business of saying no to any movie roles nowadays.

The sometime actress declined the role of stripper Jade in “The Hangover” after declaring the screenplay “had no potential,” according to US Weekly.

A source says director Todd Phillips approached Lohan to star in the hit movie (which has pulled in about $205 million so far) after their mutual agent campaigned on the actress’ behalf.

“The agent tried hard to get Phillips to consider her,” said the source, “and when he finally agreed, Lindsay said she didn’t like the script!”

The role went to actress Heather Graham and I believe we’re all happier for it.

Daniel Radcliffe and Jolie’s kids put on their dancing shoes

radcliffeDaniel Radcliffe is putting on his dancing shoes. His ballet shoes, to be specific.

The 19-year-old actor is taking the lessons in hopes of making himself more employable, always a good plan in this job market.

He told Esquire magazine: “I’m learning the basics of ballet. The thing is, in a few years I’ll be 21, 22, and that’s when all the guys who’ve been at drama school will come out.

“They’ve been learning dance or singing and all that stuff and I’m going to need to compete with them because I won’t have ‘Harry Potter’ as my safety net any more. I need to make myself as viable a choice for any part as I possibly can.”

In other dance news, Angelina Jolie is giving her eldest two daughters an early start in show business – she’s enrolled Shiloh, 3, and Zahara, 4, in dance classes.

The trio were snapped entering the Creative Station in Studio City, Los Angeles on Monday. Jolie signed each of them up for 10 of the Princess Series Ballet/Tap classes, reports Ok! magazine.

Jerry O’Connell on dogs and dads

oconnellromijnDogs are good training for fatherhood, according to Jerry O’Connell.

The actor has six-month-old twin girls, Charlie and Dolly, with actress/model Rebecca Romijn and said that the amount of care his pets need helped him get ready for the girls.

“What’s amazing is I had dogs before we had kids and when you get the dog food and you’re putting it out, the dogs are like panting, ‘Food time!’ Babies are exactly the same,” said O’Connell.

His wife insisted on breast feeding, which made their nights inconvenient (though it’ll, you know, improve their immune system and stuff, but come on, Jerry wanted baked Alaska!)

“Even I was like, ‘Honey, why?’ Lets go get some formula and make this easy. But every few hours that big generator Frankenstein machine would go on. We were at a friend of ours’ wedding and we were there for a couple of hours. I was having a good time, dancing… and we’re having a good time. My wife grabbed me and she was like, ‘We’re leaving now,’ and I was like, ‘No, no, no, come on, I want to cut the cake,” said O’Connell.

As well as being demanding for their food, the girls also have very different sleep patterns from their parents.

He told “Live! With Regis and Kelly”:”I don’t wake up particularly early, my wife doesn’t wake up particularly early, but for some reason for our children, 5 a.m. is their time!”

And that, my friend, is why all I have is a cat.

Megan Fox’s new trailer and missing audition tape

Megan Fox is going from robots to demons in her new movie, “Jennifer’s Body,” a dark and grisly comedy in which her character becomes possessed by a demon and she starts to murder her male high school classmates, often while nude and covered in blood.

Check out a taste of the movie, written by “Juno” scribe Diablo Cody and set for release September 18:

Speaking of Fox nude (and video we’d really like to see), Michael Bay is in possession of a unique audition video. He made the actress audition for her breakout “Transformers” role by washing his car.

“He made her wash his Ferrari while he filmed her,” reported Jason Solomons in Britain’s Guardian. “She said she didn’t know what had happened to that footage. When I put it to Bay himself, he looked suitably abashed – ‘Er, I don’t know where it is either.’”

Uh-huh. Sure you don’t, Michael.

Rain pours down on Potter premiere

watsonIt rained on Harry Potter’s parade today as a storm threatened to wreck the London premiere of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

Daniel Radcliffe and co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson stood beneath umbrellas as rain soaked the red carpet.

Grint and Radcliffe were left soaked as they posed for photos and Watson suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction (at left).

A premiere guest told WENN, “Daniel, in particular, seemed to find the whole thing quite funny, holding his hands up to the heavens, as if to say, ‘What’s with the rain?’”

In more serious news, the cast was without one of their own, murdered cast member Rob Knox. Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Grint, Bonnie Wright (Ginny) and Tom Felton (Draco) wore white wrist ribbons in tribute to Knox.

Knox, who played Marcus Belby in the movie, was stabbed outside a bar in Kent, England, in May, just weeks after filming wrapped.

“What happened to Rob was awful,” said Radcliffe.

“The premiere is going to be a traumatic experience for his family,” added Wright.

Josh Duhamel’s stripping ways

josh-duhamelThe couple probably didn’t register for it, but some hopeful wedding guest gave Josh Duhamel and his wife, Fergie, a stripper pole for their nuptials. And Duhamel is the one who tends to use it.

The couple married in January and the exotic exercise pole was among their gifts from friends and family.

Duhamel said Fergie has refused to use the device since it was installed in their home, but he’s been practicing his moves.

He told Women’s Health magazine, “I’ve played on the pole more than she has. If you know my wife, she’s a perfectionist and won’t get on it until she’s good, so she wants to take a class first. So the pole is really just decorative at this point.”

Anna Paquin’s school regrets

annaActress Anna Paquin may have a hit show on HBO, but that’s not enough for the star. She plans to return to school one day because she regrets not graduating from college.

The “True Blood” star enrolled at Columbia University in New York after earning her high school diploma, but quit after just one year to focus on her acting career.

Paquin doesn’t plan to leave show business any time soon, but believes a return to Columbia sometime in the future.

She told AOL Television, “I did a year (of college) right after high school, because I was curious to see if there was anything else that made me as passionate… and all it really did was clarify that I was exactly where I wanted to be (acting).

“It was great, and at some point I do intend to go back and finish. (But) this is definitely my arena of jobs – either writing or directing and producing. I love storytelling. It’s what I feel passionate about.”

Children’s services questions Jackson kids

jacksonkidsMichael Jackson’s children were questioned by social workers hours after the star’s death.

Less than a day after the singer passed away from a suspected cardiac arrest, Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II (aka Blanket) met with case workers from the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) following allegations the 50-year-old star was addicted to painkillers to see if they had been exposed to narcotics, including the heroin substitute methadone.

A source said: “The investigation was initially launched because drugs are so heavily involved. But in this particular case there are red flags from all the family history and from Michael’s prior involvement in molestation cases.”

The DCFS investigation could also influence any custody disputes between the late star’s mother Katherine Jackson, whom Michael named as legal guardian of the children, and Debbie Rowe, mother to the two eldest children. Rowe said she’s planning to fight for custody.

The source added to Britain’s The Sun newspaper: “The DCFS has 27 days to investigate the case and close it. They will check everyone involved in the children’s lives for a criminal background. If they are satisfied the kids have been raised in a decent environment, then no further action will be taken. But if they’re not satisfied, that’s when they take it to court.”

Taylor Swift’s hot hot Fourth of July

swiftTaylor Swift was none-too-swift with the fireworks as a child. The “Love Story” singer said she regularly “humiliated” herself during July 4 celebrations, burning her hands in exactly the same way every time the day came round.

Writing on her MySpace blog, the 19-year-old star said: “I love Sparklers. They’re sparkly. I love sparkly things. And glitter. Anyway, story time: When I was younger, I was always that little kid who would run around picking up used sparklers off the ground and I would inevitably pick up the SCALDING HOT BURNING end that was still smoldering.

“Then cue the screaming bloody murder in front of everyone and running into the house to ice your hand. All the adults are shaking their heads because they saw you do the same thing last year. Got to love humiliating childhood memories (sic).”

‘Eclipse’ may be a struggle for RPattz

pattinsonRobert Pattinson’s routine has been interrupted and it will make “Eclipse,” the third installment in the “Twilight” series a challenge for him, according to a costar.

Pattinson has until August 17 to learn his lines but his new found fame will make his normal routine impossible.

“He’s an actor who likes to prepare out in public – he likes to read a script at a coffee shop where there’s people walking by and there’s noise; he prepares that way,” said costar Mike Welch.

“And he can’t really do that anymore. It’s tough, man… I don’t know where his life is really headed.”

Welch may not have the ladies lusting for him, but he isn’t jealous of Pattinson’s safety issues.

He added: “Man, no, I don’t wish I had Rob’s life at all. I’m glad he’s OK. And as long as people don’t start ripping at him and breaking him in two, I think we’ll be OK… I wish him the best, and hope he’s going to be all right.”

Michael Jackson’s doctor unable to prescribe drugs in California

Michael-JacksonAccording to federal drug regulations, Michael Jackson’s personal physician couldn’t legally prescribe even a powerful cough medicine for the late star in California.

Federal authorities revealed to FOXNews.com that Dr. Conrad Murray is not licensed to administer certain levels of controlled medications in the state, and that if he gave Demerol or Oxycontin to Jackson, per reports, it would have been illegal.

Murray is licensed to distribute them in Nevada and Texas and could have gotten them there, but bringing them to California would have been illegal. He could have administered drugs other doctors provided or that Jackson had ordered online from abroad, which is also illegal.

Murray’s lawyers claim the doctor didn’t give Demerol or OxyContin to Jackson. Murray’s attorney, Ed Chernoff, released a statement Monday declaring “Dr. Murray didn’t prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson.”

Federal law requires doctors to register with the Drug Enforcement Agency in the jurisdiction in which they administer, dispense or prescribe controlled substances ranging in potency from extra-strength cough syrup to potent painkillers. Murray is licensed to practice medicine in three states, and he is required to register with the DEA in all three if he wants to be able to provide equal drug treatment to all his patients.

“Dr. Murray has DEA registration numbers in Nevada and Texas, but he does not have one in California,” a federal law enforcement official told FOXNews.com. “You absolutely have to have a registration number to prescribe controlled substances, and there was nothing in California.”

Miranda Sevcik, a spokeswoman for Murray’s legal team, said she did not have information about the doctor’s DEA registration status in California.

“We don’t have that information,” she said. “If it’s relevant to the investigation, I’m sure it’ll be looked into. If it’s not, it won’t be.”

Jack White hates the digital age

jackwhiteJack White is a technophobe.

The former White Stripes leader insists on doing all his recordings on analogue tape instead of digital. Plus, he doesn’t own a cell phone and hates the internet, much to the aggravation of others.

“I want to be part of the resurgence of things that are tangible, beautiful and soulful, rather than just give in to the digital age,” said White. “But when I talk to people about that, they just go, ‘Yeah I know what you mean’ and stare at their mobiles. The general vibe I get is, ‘Quit being a drag. We’re progressing here.’”

Jack’s anti-modernism is shared by his Dead Weather bandmates.

Singer Alison Mosshart said: “I’ve gone on lunches with people who haven’t looked up from their iPhones. You feel like you’re having lunch on your own.”

Bassist Jack Lawrence added to Britain’s Guardian newspaper: “It’s only a matter of time before the world gets sick of reading some shithead’s comments on a message board.”

Robert Pattinson’s strange trip through fame

mtv movie awards 10 020608Fame is strange for Robert Pattinson.

The “Twilight” star went from Harry Potter to every tween’s first wet dream as Edward Cullen and he’s still adjusting to life as a worldwide star.

“Robert is coping with it all very well. I think he is finding all the attention a bit strange. I met all the cast for the first time when we started shooting the second film. It was fun,” said his “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” co-star Jamie Campbell, who plays Caius, an ancient vampire, in the new movie.

“I hung out with them and they are lovely people. There is always a connection with actors that you work with – it doesn’t matter it you like them or not. There is always a connection.”

The 20-year-old British actor added to BANG Showbiz: “It is nice to be back in England because I have anonymity there and I can do whatever I want. But being in America was absolutely crazy, you couldn’t go out. There were paparazzi following us everywhere. It was fun for me because I was only there for two-and-a-half weeks but I feel sorry for the guys who have to deal with it the whole time.”

Katherine Heigl’s jealous hubbie

heiglGreen is a good color on Josh Kelley. The musician, Katherine Heigl’s husband, gets jealous when the actress kisses her co-stars.

Heigl said Kelley hated watching her sexy scenes with Gerard Butler in upcoming film “The Ugly Truth”.

When asked if Josh was comfortable with her getting intimate with the Scottish hottie, Heigl said: “No, not really. It’s not his favorite part of the profession but I told him, ‘It’s my job, and if I feel uncomfortable doing my job, and it suffers because of it, I’ll kill you.’ ”

This isn’t the first fight for the newlyweds.

When they first moved in together, the couple argued constantly.

“Josh and I didn’t live together before we were married because I wanted to hang on to those last days of my single-girl pad as long as I could,” said Heigl. “I’m not going to lie – it was rough when we finally moved in together. It’s the simple stuff everyone talks about. I like things neat, he leaves things everywhere.”

But no matter how angry her hubbie gets, Heigl isn’t ready to say goodbye to her onscreen romances.

“I know I’m catching some crap for only doing romcoms, but I really like doing them. People keep asking me if I want to do anything more serious, or Oscar-worthy, and I do, but I’m not quite there yet,” said Heigl. “I did a lot of heavy stuff in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. My mother went through breast cancer 12 years ago, and it brought a lot of that back. I don’t want to do that 24/7.”

David Spade renting his mansion

spadeThe real estate market is still pretty shaky, even for celebs. Comedian and actor David Spade has been unable to sell his Malibu mansion, forced to rent the place out.

The actor put the four bedroom, three bathroom beach house up for sale last year with a price tag of $16 million, almost $7 million more than he paid for it in 2005, which means he obviously hasn’t been watching any of the news for the last six months.

Spade has refused to reduce the price for the house, located near homes owned by Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlize Theron. Instead, he’s renting the place.

A source told the National Enquirer, “After a year on the market, David finally realized the house just wasn’t going to sell – so now he’s resorted to renting the place for $65,000 a month.”

Poor David, just $65,000 a month? Wah.

Emma Watson dreaded Rupert Grint kiss

emmawatsonEmma Watson jumped Rupert Grint for their much-awaited kissing scene.

The 19-year-old actress dreaded the kiss with her co-star in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and wanted to get the scene over with.

“I pounced on him, I was so desperate to get it over with,” she told said on the UK’s “Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.”

Watson is getting ready to begin her college education at Columbia University in New York City and backtracked on her previous statements about leaving acting.

When asked if her future lies in acting, Watson said: “Definitely. I’m so excited about going to university but it doesn’t mean to say I can’t do something else, I want to have my cake and eat it. I’d like to try comedy.”

Though she started Her Harry Potter career at the young age of 10, Watson said that hasn’t meant losing out on her childhood.

“I never felt like I was missing out. We were able to be kids because we were together, whatever weird thing we were doing,” she said.

Zac Efron cuts his luscious locks

efron
Oh Zac! Let’s hope this isn’t a Keri Russell moment. The “High School Musical” hottie has chopped off his trademark hair in hopes of landing more serious acting roles.

He headed to La Peer Salon Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif. and lost those luscious locks. He’s set to star in “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” and was seen preparing to the role last week, taking a ride on a sailboat.

The movie is described as a “sexy thriller” from the writer of “The Thomas Crown Affair” remake.

Robert Pattinson may make a musical return

RobertPattinsonRobert Pattinson won over tweens and movie goers musically with his song on the “Twilight” soundtrack and after he finishes filming the third movie in the trilogy, the “Twilight” fueled band might be in the cards.

Pattinson jammed with co-stars Kristen Stewart, Jackson Rathbone and Nikki Reed while they were filming “New Moon” in Vancouver.

Rathbone told People.com: “Rob’s an incredible guitarist and vocalist. (And) Kristen can really play guitar. They’re really multi-talented artists.

“Rob Pattinson and Kristen and Nikki would do a lot of jam sessions, and Kellan (Lutz) and Ashley (Greene) and Peter (Facinelli) would all hang out in the hotel room and play music and hang out on the set.”

Ashley Greene has recently vowed to take music lessons since she’s not musically inclined and is missing out the fun.
