Lance Armstrong says baby fever ended his relationship with Sheryl Crow
The race to a baby was the one that did in Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow. In his new biography, “Lance: The Making of the World’s Greatest Champion” (with some Kanye-esque hubris there), the seven-time Tour de France winner revealed that the reason he and Crow called off their engagement is because she wanted kids.
“She wanted marriage, she wanted children; and not that I didn’t want that, but I didn’t want that at that time because I had just gotten out of a marriage, I’d just had kids,” Armstrong, who had three children at the time wrote.
“Yet we’re up against her biological clock- that pressure is what cracked it.” He said that the relationship headed for trouble not long after their 2005 engagement and became “kind of a struggle,” ultimately ending just before Crow’s 44th birthday and just a few weeks prior to her surgery for breast cancer.
“I felt like I wasn’t ready,” he said in the book. “I would have been in the future, but not then.”
The future is apparently now- Armstrong has a baby on the way with girlfriend Anna Hansen, due next month. Crow adopted her son, Wyatt, in 2007- without Armstrong.
“Because if somebody wants a child – man, that’s the greatest gift you can give to a woman – so who are you to stand there and say I don’t want one. So we were at different points in our lives.
“We were not compatible on that issue.”
His book hits shelves June 29.
Jennifer Hudson gives a return proposal
Jennifer Hudson is getting engaged all over again. Her boyfriend David Otunga proposed five months ago, on her 27th birthday. Last month, she did the same to him.
She presented her honey a 5-carat diamond ring to her lawyer-turned-pro-wrestler fiance on his birthday.
“Jennifer wanted to give him something really special when she asked David to marry her,” said Neil Lane, who worked with Hudson for months to design the ring and designed the ring Otunga gave Hudson. “It was very sentimental and romantic … They are really in love.”
The handmade platinum ring has an “architectural and geometric” pattern and Lane describes it as “masculine, yet has a lot of sparkle.”
“Jennifer and I went through lots of different designs, talked about it a lot and she was very open,” Lane said. The biggest complication was that neither the designer nor the singer knew Otunga’s ring size and it ended up being too big.
Last weekend, the couple stopped in at Lane’s L.A. store to get it resized. “They were so lovey-dovey and so sweet to each other,” the jeweler said. “He was very protective of her and they were so in love.”
Renee Zellweger is looking for a man of big words
When looking for a new man, Renee Zellweger is all about the mouth.
“I’m looking for an encyclopedia and a dictionary. A bit of the Boy Scouts Handbook. A person who is conscientious about the trail he leaves behind him,” said the actress. “I’m attracted to intelligence and creativity and passion – and not necessarily the romantic kind. I want to learn from someone who is greedy for information and light and laughter and the whole world.”

When asked what else she wants in a man, Renee added to America’s Glamour magazine: “Love. Unconditional kindness.”

“If I’m going to give (the single life) up, it better be good – because I’m having fun! When you think about it, when you’re single, you’re not deprived in any way – if anything, it’s a pretty self-indulgent lifestyle. It’s selfish. You can make your own decisions and indulge on an impulse.”
Lindsay and Sam rekindling their romantic fires?
On again, off again, drama, drama, drama. Lindsay Lohan and Samantha may be on a path to a reunion. The very famous lesbians continue to spend time together and multiple sources say that Lohan spent Tuesday night an her ex’s Los Angeles home.
Meanwhile, Lohan told E! News Tuesday that she and Ronson are “in touch” and remain friends. Plus, while Lohan was in Hawaii and Ronson was in New York City, the redhead temporarily changed her blackberry messenger name to “LL loves Sam Ronson.”
“Sam might eventually take Lindsay back … It wouldn’t surprise anyone,” said one source.
Another said of the break-ups, “It’s a cycle that can go on forever. Now that things have died down a little and Lindsay is behaving herself and showing Sam what she wants to see, Sam’s strength to stay away eases up.”
Other friends deny Ronson wants her back (she was the one who ended it after all).
“Sam’s family will literally lose all respect if she goes back to Lindsay, and that’s what’s convincing her things are really over,” said another source. “They do text, (blackberry messanger), have visits. Lindsay plays stupid mind games saying she is being pursued by major celebrity actors. She has a lot of free time to play all these childish games.”
But Ronson is still a little in love: “Sam knows in her head, life is truly better off without Lindsay, even if her heart sometimes says otherwise.”
All together now: Jon Gosselin claims innocence
It’s another round of denials for Jon Gosselin. Despite admitting to trouble at home, he claims adultery is not among his problems.
Us Weekly is piling up the evidence of an affair with third grade teacher Deanna Hummel (she denies, her brother Jason confirms), but Jon says no.
“These allegations are false and just plain hurtful,” Jon said in a statement to PEOPLE. “As I adjust to the attention that comes from being in the public eye, I need to be more careful and aware of who I am associating with and where I am spending my time. But the bottom line is, I did not cheat on Kate. I am sorry for putting my family in this awkward position, given some poor decisions and bad judgments I’ve made recently.”
Deanna, for her part, claims her brother is making everything up: “I can’t even stomach the lies he’s saying about me.”
When asked by Entertainment Weekly whether they will address this on air, Kate Gosselin said, “I think we will address the bigger picture, regarding the very public focus on our family and the stress it’s caused in our relationship… Our main focus is on our family and working through this.”
More Jon Gosselin alleged adultery details
In a not-terribly-shocking turn of events, the brother of Jon Gosselin’s other woman along with a slew of other people have confirmed that the 32-year-old father of eight and star of the popular “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ has been having an affair with Deanna Hummel (who recently deny deny denied the affair.)
UsWeekly has all the dirty details, from the 23-year-old third grade teacher’s older brother and roommate Jason. He claims that he wants to set the record straight and protect his little sister.
“She’s a nice girl, not a homewrecker,” Jason said. “He is a bad liar. This isn’t healthy for her. But she is refusing to help herself, so here I am trying to help her myself. I hope this clears the air.”
The couple met in January at Chill Lounge in Reading, Pa. According to Jason, the two sent each other $3 shots and Jon has been pursuing her every since. Within a month, Jon was making regular visits to their Reading house.
When the b*tch is away, the hubby will play. With Kate off on her book tour, Jon invited Deanna over to sunbathe in his family’s front yard on April 26, about a week after they were snapped together at Legends Lounge at 2 a.m.
At the Hummel house, Jason said Deanna and Jon would “pretty much stay locked away like two teenagers. It was weird. He’s a grown man.”
He added, “A lot of the time, it was pretty, um, gross listening to her, you know, um, how do I say this? The walls are thin. Let’s just say that. I mean, no one wants to hear his sister having sex, let alone with a married dude who’s, like, almost twice her age and who has eight kids and a maybe-crazy wife. Ick. Nast.”

Meg plans a White wedding
Meg White is engaged. And not to her bandmate/husband/maybe brother, Jack. The White Stripes drummer will wed guitarist Jackson Smith, son of punk rocker Patti Smith and her late musician husband Fred Smith, later this year.
Her representative said: “I can confirm Meg and Jackson will be married some time this year.”
The two met last summer and are planning a private ceremony in Nashville, Tenn.
A source said: “They don’t want it to be a circus. They want it to be about the two of them.”
Meg was previously married to bandmate Jack White, whom she divorced in 2005.
No Newlyweds regrets for Jessica Simpson
You’d think with her career circling the drain and a painful public divorce, Jessica Simpson might regret her decision to put her marriage on display in “Newlyweds” on MTV.
She and Nick Lachey divorced in 2005 after three years of marriage and hasn’t spoken to her former husband “in years,” but insists the show didn’t destroy their relationship.
“The show made me understand what marriage is, what love is, what commitment is. In all honesty, I believe it did not affect our marriage. Because we enjoyed watching those episodes, and that will always be a time I cherish,” she told Vanity Fair.
They married when she was just 22-year-old and it was the culmination of her teenage dreams.
“It was what we all wanted. Go to college, get married, and have babies. It was my way of thinking. At 16, every boyfriend I had I was going to marry.”
Simpson is now dating American football star Tony Romo and that relationship has had trouble of its own.
Fans of the Dallas Cowboys, think Jessica is unlucky, and have tried to ban her from all games to avoid the “Jessica Jinx”.
“We don’t let it affect our relationship. If we did, we wouldn’t be together, because it happened at the very beginning,” she said. “Dating the Cowboys quarterback comes with hype, the fans, the bloggers, but I’ve never dated a guy that was more simple. I’m always there for him after a game, and he knows he has me to come home to.”

Kelly McGillis comes out
Actress Kelly McGillis, who played Tom Cruise’s girlfriend in the 1980s hit “Top Gun” confirmed the long-standing rumor that she’s gay in a recent interview.
McGillis (seen then and now at left) told the Internet show Girl Rock! that she’s single and looking – for girlfriend.
“Definitely a woman,” she said when asked if she’s looking for a man or a woman. “I’m done with the man thing. You need to move on in life.”
McGillis, 51, has been married and divorced twice, and has two daughters with her second husband, Fred Tillman.
Coming out as a lesbian was “an ongoing process from the time I was probably 12.
“I had a lot of things happen that convinced me that God was punishing me because I was gay,” McGillis said. She was attacked and raped in her apartment in 1982 when she was a young actress working in New York.
She also told the show that now that her daughters are grown, she’s looking to get back into acting, but is having a hard time not because of her sexuality, but because of her refusal to dye her hair.
“Whenever I get an offer, they ask me to dye my hair,” the graying star said. “And I just won’t.”
Maggie Gyllenhaal gets hitched
Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal wed her boyfriend and baby daddy Peter Sarsgaard in an Italian ceremony.
The couple exchanged vows in a small chapel in Brindisi on Saturday. Maggie’s brother, actor Jake Gyllenhaal and his girlfriend, Reese Witherspoon, were among the guests in attendance, reports RadarOnline.com.
Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard have been dating since 2002 and have a two-year-old daughter, Ramona.
No wedding bells for Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr
Model Miranda Kerr is “too busy” to consider settling down with actor boyfriend Orlando Bloom.
The two have been dating since 2007 and rumors of an engagement cropped up in December, but they’re still untrue.
Kerr, an Australian Victoria’s Secret model, said she would love to get married and start a family one day – but not just yet.
She told Eonline.com, “It’s definitely something, one day down the track, I want. But for now, I’m happy. I’m just too busy with work that I can’t be thinking of that right now.”
Nicole Kidman dishes on Tom Cruise
For all those who think that maybe just maybe Tom Cruise is a controlling crazy husband, Nicole Kidman is busy proving you right.
She talked lashed out at her ex-husband in an interview with Easy Living magazine, saying he expected her to be “seen and not heard.”
“I felt I became a star only by association,” Kidman said. “We would go to the Oscars and I would think, ‘I’m here to support him.’ I felt it was my job to put on a beautiful dress and be seen and not heard.”

Fortunately for Kidman, she said her new husband Keith Urban is her “greater love” and said she “can’t bear to be separated from (her daughter with Keith), Sunday Rose.”

Heidi Klum wants to fix up her “Project Runway” co-host Tim Gunn after he confessed he’s been single for more than 25 years.
The fashion favorite admitted in a recent interview that he’s been too busy for a relationship and Klum sees a chance to play matchmaker.
She told Eonline.com, “If it was up to me, he would already be hooked up. I have a lot of friends who really fancy him and occasionally I lug them to the set – and they’re really fantastic matches because I think I have a really good eye for that – but he’s so focused on what he does.
“I don’t understand it, because he’s such a really honest and nice man.”

Actress Eliza Dushku has been spotted with Vanessa Williams’ ex-husband, former basketball player Rick Fox.
The couple has been spotted together out and about in Miami, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada, and friends claim the two are an item.
A source told Star magazine, “They’d been trying to play down their relationship. But there’s no denying that it’s hot and heavy. She’s completely smitten with him, and they have an amazing time together.”
Fox, 39, divorced Williams in 2005. Dushku, 28, has previously been linked to Matt Dillon and Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.
Rihanna dodges Chris Brown
Rihanna is telling Chris Brown to leave her alone. According to reports, the singer was in a Los Angeles recording studio last week after a two month break and her on-again, off-again boyfriend interrupted the afternoon with a steady stream of phone calls.
“Chris called Rihanna’s producer until he finally got him on the phone,” an insider told OK!. “He demanded to know if Rihanna was there, pleading ‘Is she there? Tell Me! Pease tell me if she is there or not.’”
When Rihanna heard the commotion, she gestured to the producer, “No! Tell him I’m not here.”
If the district attorney asks her, Rihanna’s lawyer has said she will testify in Brown’s trial for assault and making criminal threats.
Brown’s layers are trying to make a plea deal before the next scheduled court date, May 28.
Dita Von Teese heating it up with a Count?
Dita Von Teese has a new man in her life, a French aristocrat more than 10 years younger than she is.
Von Teese, a 36-year-old burlesque beauty, gave a rare glimpse into her love life post-marriage to Marilyn Manson. She was spotted out and about with 25-year-old actor Count Louis-Marie de Castelbajac at California’s Coachella Music Festival earlier this month.
A pal of Castelbajac told the New York Post, “We’re all shocked they’re together. She’s really robbing the cradle.”
But Von Teese denied rumours she was looking to settle down, telling reporters: “Right now I’ve got three (men). They’re all in different parts of the world… That’s my biggest sin – juggling men.”
Jon Gosselin caught cheating?
No wonder Kate is such a b*tch. The new issue of Us Weekly has photos of the hen-pecked father of eight with a mystery woman and without his wedding ring.
The shots show Jon of “Jon and Kate Plus 8″ leaving a club at 2 a.m. He got there around 11:20 a.m. on April 18 and by the time he left, he “could barely walk.” He left Legends Lounge by the back exit, near Wernersville, Pa.
For those not familiar, Jon has twin girls, Madelyn and Cara, 8, and 5-year-old sextuplets, Aaden, Joel, Collin, Hannah, Leah and Alexis.
A fellow partier heard him yelling to the mystery woman, “Hey, babe! Babe! Give me my jacket!” before climbing into his Nissan Nismo with her. He panicked when the cameras caught them and told her to “get in the car” before racing away without even turning on the headlights.
Kate was nowhere to be seen, off on a book tour in Bellevue, Washington. She’s been around the country promoting her book, “Eight Little Faces,” for the past month.
Jon offered Us Magazine this statement: “I went to Legends to speak to the owner. A friend of mine wanted to check out my car, so I let her drive it to her car. Yes, I have female friends – but that is all she is. I’m not going to end my friendships just because I’m on TV.”
This isn’t the first shady situation Jon has been involved in. Back in February, he was spotted flirting with college girls from Juanita College, telling one “he was getting divorced.” He admitted no wrong then as well.
Mel Gibson and girlfriend out in public
Why is it good little Catholic Mel Gibson has no trouble heading out on the town with his new girlfriend when the divorce papers are barely dry?
His wife, Robin Gibson, filed paperwork about two weeks ago and Tuesday night Mel was out at the Los Angeles screening of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” with Oksana Grigorieva, a 39-year-old Russian singer signed to his record label, Icon Records.
“Mel has been single for almost three years and it’s nice to see him getting out and enjoying himself,” his rep told PEOPLE.
The 53-year-old actor held hands with Grigorieva as they walked the carpet before taking a seat at the screening at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
“They came in quietly and as under-the-radar as they could and they were pretty low-key,” said a source. “Mel seemed very comfortable.”
Gibson was invited to the screening by Fox chairman James Gianopoulus and “Wolverine” producers Richard and Lauren Donner and the star himself, Hugh Jackman, according to the source. In fact, Jackman told the audience he got inspiration for his character from Gibson’s role as Mad Max.
Penns separate again
Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn have split yet again. The two parted ways in December 2007 when Robin filed for a legal separation, then reconciled about a year ago.
According to Extra, that reconciliation is over and Sean is the one who filed for a legal separation on April 24. I’m sure that had nothing to do with him getting all up on Natalie Portman at the Oscars post-party. Nothing at all.
The couple, who married in 1996, would have celebrated their 13th anniversary on Monday. They have two children together, Dylan and Hopper Jack.
