Beastie Boys Unleash New Album Early Due To Leaks

Due to unnecessary leaks made of the “clean version” of the new Beastie Boys LP “Hot Sauce Committee Part 2″, the terrible threesome decided to take matters in their own hands and released the “dirty version” for everyone to hear!
The album will in stores on May 3rd but all 15 tracks from HSCP2 is available for listening below, so click and listen! Don’t skip any tracks and listen to all of them.

If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that the Beasties haven’t lost their touch for good ol’ fashioned Hip Hop. No Auto-tune and definitely none of that Electro-trash Pop. This is how it should be done!
Happy Birthday, Lisa Stansfield!
Today is the 45th birthday of one of the best R&B/Soul/Dance singers to bust out from the early 90′s, Lisa Stansfield! While Lisa had a minor hit in early 2001, the majority of her success came in the early 90′s when she had hit songs like “All Around The World”, “This Is The Right Time”, “People Hold On”, and “Never, Never Gonna Give You Up” ruling the charts.

It was a bit of an odd transformation in the late 90′s when Lisa lost a lot of weight and nearly became a completely different person. When you compare what she looks like now to how she used to look 20 years ago, you wouldn’t be able to tell it was the same person, I kid you not.
But that’s okay, to me all that matters is her Soulful music and, let me tell ya, Auto-tune be damned because THIS is how you do Pop Music the right way!

Hayley Williams Busts Out For The May Cover of Cosmo

Cosmo is continuing it’s new trend of adding lots of really amped-up cleavage on their covers. It started last month with Olivia Wilde and her “wildly” exaggerated Photoshopped rack and now the honor for the May 2011 cover goes to flame-headed Paramore singer, Hayley Williams!

The article inside doesn’t reveal anything that most Paramore fans don’t already know (she’s dating another lead singer, big whoop), so nothing for me to report. The only topic she does NOT touch on in her interview is her infamous “hacked” topless picture that got posted onto her Twitter account over a year ago. But that’s okay, pictures speak louder than words, Hayley *wink wink*.

George Michael’s “Faith” Gets Remastered
I’m not afraid to claim that I am a big fan of Wham! and George Michael. Not in the least bit! The music from both of those acts is practically a time capsule of 1980′s Pop Music and it was only a matter of time before one of those albums got a spiffy remastering. Fast forward to 2011 and, lo and behold, George Michael’s 1987 Pop masterpiece, “Faith” finally got the audio overhaul it so needed. It seems George was able to settle his legal battles with the record company and now the final product is here!
But what’s more intriguing about the new 2CD/DVD combo pack is the newly “remastered” versions of George’s iconic music videos! According to the packaging, the videos were re-synched with the newly remixed audio but, from what I’ve seen, the videos themselves seem to have gotten a bit of a do-over as well.
Here, let me give you a few examples by comparing screencaps from the original 1987/1988 videos to the 2011 remasters. The screencaps below are UN-ALTERED from their original source. As you can see, the 2011 “remasters” have been toned down in terms of Contrast colors and don’t look as super saturated as the original version. In essence, the videos look less colorful but picture quality becomes a tad sharper.

Regardless, this newly remastered album is worth seeking out (it’s only available in a few stores) especially if you’re an 80′s music nostalgia lover like me! This is a great way to bring back the good ol’ days when Pop Music didn’t have Auto-tune and MTV still aired music videos. Fuckin’ ay, I miss those days……
Katy Perry’s Backstage Grammy Party
It was a bit of a disappointment that Katy Perry left the Grammys empty-handed but that doesn’t mean she didn’t party! Katy attended the EMI afterparty and was seen getting friendly with all the execs and veeps that didn’t spend enough money to get her a Grammy.
Wait, was that supposed to be a secret?
In case you didn’t notice, it just so happened that the camera guy couldn’t get the all-too-famous upskirt shot of Katy. He ALMOST did and that’s why I’m favoriting these pics because its the closest to an unintentional skin flash that Katy will ever show. Thumbs up!
Joss Stone Hates The Queen
What better way for UK songstress Joss Stone to protest the killing of bears by claiming that her Royal Highness is a killer of animals! Rather than protest the people that hunt the bears, she’d rather take a swipe at the Monarchy because, GOD FORBID, PETA doesn’t get your attention.
Plus this bullshit ad that doesn’t really show any naked-ness.
Nice move, PETA! I just hope the Queen still has all the traps from the Spanish Inquisition in her basement just for ALL of you.

INXS In Concert
The last I heard, the guys from INXS had fired their lead singer JD Fortune. Up to this point, it seemed INXS was no more BUT…..I guess I heard wrong because the boys are still together!
INXS performed a concert last night in the city of Perth in their Aussie homeland and, lo and behold, JD Fortune was out there front and center belting out all the big INXS hits. So I guess they’re still together, then!

Metallica Announce “Big 4″ Concert in California
The Big 4 of Thrash Metal – Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax – did a combined tour last summer over in Europe (and released a Blu-Ray of the shows last Christmas) and NOW….the Big 4 are doing it again stateside for only ONE show!

Lars Ulrich of Metallica announced that the Big 4 will do ONE scheduled show on the week of April 23rd (the week after the Coachella Festival) at the Empire polo Club in Indio, CA with tickets going on sale on Friday, January 29th! Get them here before they’re gone!
Van Halen Recording A New Album?
Yes, the REAL Van Halen are making music again! Not Van “I Can’t Drive 55″ Hagar or Van Gary Scherone, NO! The real Van Halen with David Lee Roth!
Oh, this such great news! Rolling Stone is reporting that record producer John Shanks made an (unofficial) Tweet about producing the new Van Halen record and that production is well in the beginning stages! I’m serious!
Rock and Roll hasn’t had a good party band in decades and if Van Halen stays true to their 1984 formula, it’s gonna be worth the wait, just you wait and see!

The Hollywood Reporter has gotten word that Mr. Marshall Mathers is making a return to the big screen after making his (only) screen appearance in the flick, “8 Mile” back in 2002.
Word on the streets is Eminem is eyeing a new drama titled, “Random Acts Of Violence” to be distributed by 20th Century Fox where he plays an “ex-con just released from prison who is trying to stay on the right side of the law despite pressure from his former comrades – at the same time, the FBI is trying to recruit him to bring down the syndicate”.
Wow, sounds just like the plotline to every Grand Theft Auto game!

Teena Marie Found Dead
Rumors had been spreading throughout the day that 80′s Pop/R&B songstress Teena Marie was found dead and, unfortunately, CNN has reported and confirmed that the songstress has indeed passed away today at the age of 54. Marie was found dead in her sleep earlier this morning, according to her manager.
Early in her career, Teena had a catalogue of hits including “Behind The Groove”, “Lovergirl” and a duet with Rick James titled “Fire And Desire”.
